We are an outdoorsy family with 2 daughters, ages 6 and 5 and a son who is three. We live in Longmont and spend occasional weekends in the mountains. We are a happy, generally relaxed family who enjoy each others company.
Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
We need an extra set of hands when Seth is out of town. Long term, we'd like someone who can help-out a couple afternoons a week and sometimes on weekends. Short-term, we are adopting our son, so we will need a little extra help when he comes home in early February.
Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
Daughter 6 years old, very helpful and loves crafts, reading and sports. Daughter 5 year old loves animals, swimming and reading books. Our son comes home in early Feb, and he is 3.
Describe your home setting: My husband, kids and I live in Longmont in a fun neighborhood with cafes, sushi, parks and shops nearby. Our house is 4 bedrooms and we have a small yard. We have a playroom in the basement for the kids. There is also a pool two blocks away for warm weather.

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
The nanny would being preparing meals for the kids, but not every time. Occasionally doing the kids' laundry would be helpful, as well.
What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
The kids love going to the park and riding bikes in good weather. They also like crafts and coloring etc. The kids specifically said they they would like a nanny who would take them to the rec center to swim and someone who "likes going to the bagel shop."

How many hours do you need a nanny for?
For the first half of February, we will need more help, since I will be away adopting our son. Long term we need about two afternoons and either a weekend evening or day. Depending on the nanny's schedule, we will occasionally ask her to come to the mountains with us.
How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
$12-15 hour. No health benefits, but some vacation pay, depending on length of employment.
Do you have any pets or animals in your home?
Yes, we have two dogs. A yellow lab and a terrier mix. Both a friendly!
What else are you looking for in a nanny?
We have a non-traditional family since two of our children are adopted. The ideal nanny would have an openness and sensitivity to our kids' individuality. We also are looking for someone with a great sense of humor!
Additional comments:
We are willing to adjust our schedule for the right nanny! The actual times aren't as important to us as the finding someone who fits with our family. We go to the mountains frequently, so ideally finding someone who would want to come up in the winter or go hiking in the summer would be perfect.
