We are a very active and laid back family, and enjoy spending time outside year round. Our son has been part of that all of his life in hiking, biking, and skiing with us. We are non-smokers and lead a healthy lifestyle. We have a black lab who enjoys coming with us most of the time. We strive to have open communication. I work out of the home, and my husband occasionally works from our home office.
Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
We are looking for a person to make a long term investment in helping our son learn the big lessons in life. We see consistency in routines and care providers as a way to help that. We seek a person who is dedicated to him and our family, as opposed to someone just filling time babysitting. Our nanny needs to be fun, compassionate, firm with boundaries, flexible with moods/situations, energetic, encouraging, funny, good with communication. She needs to have lived through potty training, toddler years, language development, etc and bring that experience to our family.
We also need someone who will still come to work when he has a minor illness, since most day cares refuse to take sick kids.
Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
Our son is 19 mo and a very active, super smiley kid. He has been super easy from the start! He loves to run, climb, go to the playground, "cook", "vacuum", read books. He is just getting the attention span for playing play dough, coloring, and watching a tiny bit of Sesame Street. He is definitely "all boy"! He communicates fairly well with baby sign, but not much verbal communication. We are working hard on his language development. He sleeps and eats great.
Describe your home setting: We live in a house in S Boulder, very close to open space and a playground.

What else are you looking for in a nanny?
We are looking for a qualified person that has the right fit for our family. Anyone can babysit, but being a nanny is much more than that! We are trusting our kid to her for a very important time in building his foundation in life!
