Please describe your family:
Our family is Mom, Dad, two boys ages 5 and 3, and two cats. We both work full time. We are an active and busy family. We prefer to be participants rather than observers. We spend time being together while learning, doing, and laughing.

Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
We are looking for a part-time summer nanny for our two boys, ages 5 and 3. The nanny will provide care, warmth, security, safety, and loving discipline in the absence of parents. The nanny will plan and execute activities which teach age-appropriate skills and knowledge in a fun, learning environment, promoting physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development. The nanny will pick up the three-year-old from preschool, bring him home, make a healthy lunch for him, and engage him in creative, educational, and fun activities for the afternoon. Then, pick up the five-year-old at school and do the same with both boys until Mom or Dad comes home from work. Safety is the primary concern. We expect the nanny to choose activities where the children will learn while having fun. The nanny will do occasional household chores with the children, such as laundry and cleaning, to teach them. We are looking for a nanny that knows how to teach chldren while they are playing, and some one whio knows how to lovingly discipline when needed.

Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
We have a five-year-old boy who goes to Kindergarten all day. He is smart, sensitive, and a joy to be around.The three-year-old boy goes to preschool some mornings. He is creative and musical and also a joy to be around.

Describe your home setting: We live in a large house in the suburb. There is a neighborhood pool nearby.

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
Preparing lunch for the child, cleaning up dishes afterwards, cleaning up toys with the child after playing, picking up the children at school, laundry, vacuuming, cleaning windows, light grocery shopping.

What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
Reading, crafts, bike riding, swimming, creative play, play games, dancing, making up new games, taking child to classes, household chores.

What special certifications/requirements are you looking for?
CPR, First Aid

How many hours do you need a nanny for?
Hours are Monday - Friday 11:30am to 4:30 pm June, July, and August.

How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
$16-19 per hour. No vacation, no sick days.

Do you have any pets or animals in your home?
Two short-haired loving cats.

What else are you looking for in a nanny?
We expect a nanny, and not a babysitter. We would like the nanny to be knowledgeable about early childhood development, discipline (we like Love and Logic), and be proactive about teaching and engaging the children in fun and educational activities. We request a written report daily of the children's activities, moods, meals, etc. and we have a form we will provide to make this easy for the nanny.
