Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
We are looking for a fabulous nanny to spend time with our boys while we go on Date Night once a week (either Friday or Saturday), to help for a few hours during the week during the school year if we have an obligation in the afternoon or evening , with additional increased hours in the summer. For the past eleven years, we have been so blessed to have CU students work with us. We prefer students to start with our family after freshman or sophomore year and in the past, our nannies have stayed with our family until they graduate. We absolutely work around our nanny's school schedule and love to be part of their college experience!
Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
Our boys are very athletic, so they love to be outdoors playing any type of sport, anytime, any weather :). In the summer, they like to spend time at the pool and/or at the park, to play basketball and/or soccer in our yard, to go on hikes, and to hit golf balls. They also love to play card games, board games, etc., and to work on art projects. We focus on respect and courtesy in our house and the boys are very used to having clear and consistent boundaries. They have loved all of our nannies and our nannies have been a big part of their lives.
Describe your home setting: We have a welcoming house with a big back yard so the boys can be outside and we live walking distance from two great parks. We have so much fun with our family, while also being very clear on what is acceptable and what is not in terms of behavior. Our boys are very used to having a nanny and when our nanny is there, she is the boss :)

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
First and foremost, engaging with and enjoying time with our boys! Occasionally driving to and from activities, very minimal homework assistance, preparing easy meals for the boys, very light housekeeping (we have the boys clean up after themselves, but there may be times when they need some help with dishwasher, their chores, etc.). Occasional help with folding boys' laundry if needed (Its amazing how much laundry three athletic boys create!). No toilets :)
What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
Our kids love sports of all kinds and enjoy spending time at the pool, golfing, playing soccer and basketball, going to the park, basically anything outdoors. They also are voracious readers. We do not watch much TV. Our amazing nannies in the past have played sports with the boys, gone on walks/hikes, gone swimming, created beautiful art projects with them, taught them fun card games etc. The boys also enjoy when our nanny reads out loud to them before they go to bed. Our last nanny was reading The Benedict Society series to them and they always love anything Harry Potter. They can all read exceptionally well, but we have always read to them as well and until they out-grow of it (it happens too fast), we love it and it chills them out at bedtime.
What special certifications/requirements are you looking for?
CPR, basic first aid and no smoking of any kind.

How many hours do you need a nanny for?
Approximately 15- 20 hours per week in the summer and 8 -10 hours during the school year, depending upon the nanny's school schedule. Summer hours are usually two or three days per week, from 9 - 1 or 2, and one weekend evening per week. School year hours would typically be one or two afternoons per week (depending upon nanny’s schedule) and Saturday evenings from 5 – 10pm (this could also be Friday night sometimes if the nanny needs it). We are also huge Buffs fans, so occasionally we need coverage for home football games if we do not take the boys with us.
How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
$12 - 14 per hour, depending upon experience.

What else are you looking for in a nanny?
Responsible - punctual, reliable, safe, consistent. Happy, kind, good-natured, patient, confident, energetic, caring, fun, honest, loves kids, outdoorsy, focused, and engaged. We think its a fun job and we want someone who really loves being a nanny and who is dedicated to our boys. We do schedule our activities out several months in advance, so reliability is key.
Additional comments:
Ideally, we are looking for a CU student who is going into her sophomore or junior year, and would be willing to stay until graduation, with moderate hours during the school year based on the nanny's schedule and with increased hours in summers. More hours possible over the Holidays if nanny’s schedule permits. We have always had longer term nannies (at least two years) and do ask for a one year commitment if possible, because our boys bond with our nanny and it helps with consistency in their lives. We love to have our nanny become an important part of our boys' lives and want someone who will be truly dedicated to our family. We are still in touch with our past nannies and have so enjoyed their time with us, and we miss them like crazy when they leave. Starting the search again when our nannies graduate is always a change, but we are looking forward to meeting another wonderful nanny!
