Nanny Job Details

Job ID: 5077
Location: Westminster, CO

Please describe your family:
We are a husband and wife in our early forties. We have a newborn son, and we have my husband’s 10 year old son that lives with us 50% of the time. We are a fun, busy, energetic family. We are down to earth, and spending time as a family is very important to us.

Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
We are looking for a full-time nanny to work from our home when I go back to work in September. I am planning to work from home 2-3 days per week. We are also looking for help with light housekeeping and hopefully some cooking. Both my husband and my jobs can be demanding at times, and we want to be able to maximize the time that we have to spend as a family.

Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
Our newborn son, Alexander, will be 3 months old (born June 2011). The position will be mainly to look after Alexander. My husband’s son is 10 years old, and lives with us 50% of the time (one full week at a time). He will be home before/after school and on days with no school.

Describe your home setting: We live in a single-family home in the Bradburn neighborhood in Westminster. It is a friendly, family oriented neighborhood, with front porches and park areas throughout. We also live across the street from a great open space area.

We have a room above the garage (separate from the house) that I will be using as an office so that I can work from home 2-3 days per week.

Basic care-giving for Alexander (including putting him down to sleep, feeding, food preparation, etc.). We would like the nanny to work with him on infant/toddler development activities (tummy time, sitting-up, crawling/walking, etc.) and sleeping/nap routines. We would like for him to have outside time/walks daily. And importantly we are looking for someone that will stay engaged with him by lots of talking, singing, and reading.

What else are you looking for in a nanny?
We understand the important, unique position that a nanny has in a child’s and our lives. We realize that this requires more than the traditional employee/employer relationship. We are looking to establish a relationship of mutual trust and respect. Open and honest communication is essential. And of course a good deal of patience and a sense of humor goes a long way.
