We are a family of 3 (Tom, Tanya and Lindsey) who live approximately 5 miles from Boulder (towards Nederland). We have only one pet (a lizard gecko) who is the responsibility of Lindsey.
Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
Tanya travels weekly for her job and Tom works 10 hour days as a firefighter in Boulder County. We need after school care for the days in the week when Tanya is out and Tom is working. We want Lindsey have a chance to do afterschool programs, be home at a regular hour for homework, eat a regular hour, etc.
Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
Lindsey is 11 years old and entering Middle School this year.
Describe your home setting: Our home is in the Magnolia area of Boulder County (closer to Boulder than Nederland), but on a fairly steep mountain road. This requires experience with mountain driving and reliable car with good snow ties in winter. We live in a small rural neighborhood but have very friendly and helpful neighbors within 50 feet or so.

Cooking for Lindsey (perhaps shopping for food or buying dinner as well), helping with homework, commuting to after school activities (1-2 days after school)
What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
Homework assistance when necessary and encouraging her to do reading, writing, etc. Sometimes accomodating a playdate or dropping/picking her up after school activities/friend's house, etc.

How many hours do you need a nanny for?
Each week we require nanny on Tues/Wed/Thurs to collect Lindsey after school at 3.30pm and stay until 7.30pm. More hours will be available as travel commitments do often extend beyond this regular schedule (these are planned a couple of weeks in advance and would be based on availability of nanny).
How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
$12-16 per hour for suitable experience plus suitability for vehicle/homework assistance, etc.
Do you have any pets or animals in your home?
One Lizard gecko in a cage-Lindsey's responsibility to look after.
What else are you looking for in a nanny?
Someone who can be a good and trusted companion to Lindsey, but someone who can encourage her but also discipline her as necessary to get homework done and other commitments (e.g. keep room clean, feed gecko, etc) met. She can be a proacastinator!
We also need someone confident to drive in the mountains and has a well maintained car.
