Nanny Job Details

Job ID: 5104
Location: Boulder, CO

Please describe your family:
We are an energetic, loving, hard working couple in our mid-thirties who have lived in Boulder for 10+ years. We love nature and the outdoors and spend as much time as possible camping, hiking, backpacking, fishing, running and biking. We hope to expose our little guy to our passions as he grows.

Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
We are looking for a nanny because we both will be working full-time beginning March 1st. Since we cannot be home during the weekdays to take care of our little one we feel that bringing someone into his home environment who he can bond with and who will provide one-on-one attention is the next best option to ensure his well-being during this critical developmental period.

Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
At the time a nanny is needed our son will be almost 6 months old. He is a super sweet, energetic, inquisitive, driven and sensitive little guy. He is very alert, loves to play, likes music and enjoys hiking around outdoors with us in a carrier. He is slowly developing a schedule, but daytime naps are currently still a bit of a struggle.

Describe your home setting: We live in a single family home in South Boulder (Table Mesa area). Our home is a two-story house with a lot of stairs. We live very close to a large park with a lake and playground as well as many hiking trails.

We would like our nanny to allow our little one to have some independent play time, reading time, outdoor time, and other age-appropriate educational activities.

What special certifications/requirements are you looking for?
We are looking for a nanny who is experienced in caring for infants, but is also interested in continuing to work with our son as he grows up. Experience in infant/childhood development would be ideal, but not required. Infant CPR certification and references please.

This is a long term, full time (eight hours a day) position. We will need a nanny Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
Compensation is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. We will also offer sick and vacation/holiday benefits.

Do you have any pets or animals in your home?
We have an older dog (german short-haired pointer) who is very sweet and will be at home during the days.

What else are you looking for in a nanny?
We are seeking an experienced, patient, fun-loving, caring, empathetic, nurturing, compassionate and reliable nanny. Our ideal candidate will have strong experience caring for infants as a nanny (preferably long-term with one or more families) and have a passion for working with infants and toddlers. This is such an impressionable time in our little mans life we would also love to find someone who has some knowledge/background in infant/child development. We would like a nanny that will provide a physically safe, cognitively challenging and emotionally nurturing environment. We would like someone who will meet all of and is sensitive to our sons needs, encourages his independence, honors his individuality and treats him with respect. We believe that consistency, dependability and predictability are important to help him feel secure and are looking for someone who will help us foster this need. While we think setting certain boundaries are important we also think that allowing our little one to ultimately learn things on his own through trial and error and allowing him the freedom to explore is equally important and would like someone who is comfortable following through with this philosophy.
