Nanny Job Details

Job ID: 5112
Location: Longmont, CO

Please describe your family:
We are a fun loving family who just had our second child. Dad works full time and mom works three 10 hr days. We pride ourselves on having a close knit family that enjoys each others company. Sharing a long walk with the dog, dancing to our favorite music, reading stories, spending time outdoors romping, games and imaginative play are all things we enjoy together. We are looking forward to our newest member joining in the fun.

Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
We love the one on one care and flexibility that having a nanny allows. We used a nanny with our first daughter and loved that we knew she was getting the kind of love and attention we would give if we were there. As an added bonus she was never sick!

Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
Our newest daughter will be 3 mths old when mom returns to work. She will be the primary responsibility. She is generally a happy baby and we are working on finding our rhythm. She is exclusively breastfed and mom is planning on pumping at work to continue this until she is at least a year old. Our oldest is 5 and in full day kindergarten from 9-3:30. She is a great kid with an outstanding imagination who loves her little sister. As a routine develops with the baby we may ask the nanny to occasionally help with her drop off and/or pick-up. Over the summer we may also ask for some days of caring for both children.

Describe your home setting: We currently live in a 5000 sq ft home with a large yard in Frederick just west of I-25 . While it has been great to have room for romping outside we found this location to be too far from work especially now that we have two children. The size of our house and yard have also proved a bit overwhelming. We would rather spend time with the kids than taking care of the home and land. We are planning on moving back to southwest Longmont this summer. We are hoping to put our house on the market in April.

We are interested in the following:
Nanny, Permanent

Full-Time/Part-Time?
Part-time

How long do you need a Nanny?
1 Year

Live-in/Live-out?
Nanny, live-out

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
The number one service we are looking for is the attentive care of our baby girl. We may ask for occasional help with our oldest daughter as the babies schedule evens out. We may also ask for help with the babies laundry and keeping the house tidy. If the nanny is fond of cooking and would like to prepare the occasional meal that would be an added bonus. If the nanny is interested, we may ask for an occasional evening “babysitting” job.

What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
Anything interactive that helps promote babies development and gives her a broad experience of her new world. We love music and hope to instill that love in our second child. Outside time is a must and hopefully our new home will be in a neighborhood with a park.

What special certifications/requirements are you looking for?
We would like someone who is experienced with infants and can readily read their subtle signs and easily troubleshoot issues that arise. Education in early childhood development would be a plus but not required. Infant CPR and references from previous nanny employment a must.

Does this position require a valid driver's license?
Yes

9-10 hours per day 1-2 days per week. This will be a long term position of 9-12 months. The days worked may be flexible.

How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
Compensation is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. We were looking in the $14-18 range. No benefits available.

Do you have any pets or animals in your home?
We have 1 good old dog. He goes to daycare one day a week so there may be one day that he is home and would need an occl potty break. There are also 2 chickens that don't require any care.

What else are you looking for in a nanny?
It is important to us that the nanny shares our child rearing philosophy. We believe that a newborn cannot be spoiled and that their needs should be met quickly and with a kind and nourishing heart. We are looking for someone who can help our baby develop physically, emotionally and intellectually. We are always open to suggestions and hope that the relationship will be one of mutual respect and open mindedness.
