Nanny Job Details

Job ID: 5115
Location: Broomfield, CO

Please describe your family:
Single full time working mom with two great kids ages 8 and 5 looking for Mary Poppins.

Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
A nanny who has experience with love and logic, can be patient, stern and loving. I am looking for someone who follows through on their word and can motivate the kids to be active and willing participants in completing homework and home life.

Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
My daughter is 8 and in 2nd grade. She is smart, funny, energetic, silly, demanding and eager to please. She has a terrible habit of trying to be a little mother to her little brother. This isn't working out so well as her brother needs a little room to breath. She is a type A personality and likes things her way. She needs a nanny who can give guidance, support, and love, who can be friendly but is not a friend first. We need a nanny first, friend second! She is comforted by a strong personality that makes her feel safe. She is a bright wonderful girl who I anticipate will grow up to be a strong beautiful leader.

My son is kind, loving and warm kindergartener. He takes a while to trust people, often withdrawing at first. He can be very clingy at times and other times fiercely independent. He too is a type A personality, which makes for an interesting household (there are 3 type As). At age 5, going on 6, he is still having tantrums but these seem to be getting better. I believe a nanny who can provide consistency in care and align with my style of parenting will be beneficial for all! He is not a physically aggressive boy. He hates soccer or any contact sport. He seems to prefer non-team sports, as I think it scares him. He enjoys kicking a soccer ball and running around but seems to prefer the sidelines when other boys are around. He is highly intelligent but struggling at school. I am having him evaluated for dyslexia but overall is doing just fine for his age and grade.

The kids can be best friends one moment and enemies the next. We need work in this area and expect this will be one of the greatest challenges for our new nanny. I am dedicated to supporting a unified approach and will support our new nannies needs in implementing consistency.

The children have had their challenges with their father. We are a strong family unit of three but are anxious to welcome a professional, dedicated nanny to our home!

Describe your home setting: We live in Broomfield, CO in a 3200 Sqf home which backs up to a large county soccer and baseball field with a small park for the kids. We have fantastic neighbors with lots of kids running from house to house and playing outside (especially in the summer months).

Additional comments:
I would like someone who is independent, can plan activities on their own, and who will not sit back and wait for direction. I like to be informed of plans and activities but I need you to take the initiative. I like to approve plans and make decisions, but make proposals and come up with solutions. I may not always agree but I respect someone who takes charge! During the school year it is after school care. In the summer, I am looking for 2 full days or three half days. I plan on summer camp activities but like to break it up. If your flexible - great! - if not, we can discuss what might work during summer. The school year is my priority.
