We are an easy-going family of four including my husband, Christian, myself, and our boy/girl twins, Jonah & Elliott. The twins are 27 months old and full of energy! They immediately like everyone they meet
and make us laugh every day.
Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
We have had a nanny since the twins were born, but she recently found a job that allows her to work from home so that she can spend more time with her own four children. She will be missed, but we wish her the very best.
Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
Our boy, Jonah, is a bit of a challenge. He is at that age where he tries to test boundaries over and over again. We use time-outs with both children frequently throughout the day to teach appropriate behavior, and to help diffuse tantrums. Elliott is a very sweet girl who wants nothing more than to be helpful. She does, however, struggling with understanding the need to share her toys. She also likes to wrestle with Jonah which it totally okay most of the time, but can get out of hand!
Describe your home setting: We live in a four bedroom, two story home in the Newlands neighborhood in North Boulder. There is a lovely park two blocks away from us, and a shopping center about 4 blocks away. The North Boulder Rec Center is a stone's throw from here too!

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
We need a nanny who can work from 8 am to 12:30 pm, Mondays through Fridays. We also will need coverage on either Saturdays or Sundays for the next 2 months as we are training for a 100 mile bike ride charity event. We'd love to have occasional date-nights from time to time too! Errands aren't necessarily an issue-- maybe just walking down to the local grocery to pick up a couple of things, but other than that we like to keep a clean kitchen, clean playroom, and clean nursery. We have a housekeeper come every other week, so only very light housekeeping.
What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
Now that the weather is improving, the best way to wear these monkeys out is outdoors. Both our front and back yards are fenced in, and the North Boulder park is SO close, that this should not be a problem. We are also a mile from Pearl Street and have a BOB jogging stroller for longer walks. Working on building the kids vocabularies is important to us, and can easily be incorporated into the day. Just play, play, play!!
What special certifications/requirements are you looking for?
We'd love someone who has CPR certification. We also need to emphasize that this is a high energy job that requires a lot of patience but can reap great rewards. They truly are great kids..

How many hours do you need a nanny for?
25 hours during the work week + an additional 7 hours once a weekend until June 1st.
How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
$16 to $18/hr. We do not offer benefits, but may provide a bonus for special initiative taking.
Do you have any pets or animals in your home?
YES! We have three older dogs. I hope this doesn't cause a problem! They are as sweet as can be, and can be confined to their own quarters whenever necessary.
What else are you looking for in a nanny?
A friend. We want our nanny to feel as at home in our house as we do. We are not the kind of people to treat our nanny as simply an employee, but as a member of the family in a way.
Additional comments:
The twins will be starting a morning program at a local Montessori school in late August. I am hoping to have found part-time employment by then, so we may continue to need help with the kids in the afternoons. I will keep the nanny notified of any changes far in advance.
