We are a family of four -- two professional dads and two sons. We value a close-knit family life and a stimulating environment for our children. We love to read, travel, cook, spend time with friends, and go camping together.
Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
One of us works full time and the other part time. We appreciate having help caring for the children during the day and some evenings.
Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
Our children are a 5 year-old and a 10 month-old. Our older son is active, talkative, curious, and funny, and he loves singing, biking and playing ball, hearing stories, and having someone read aloud to him. He goes to a preschool near our home from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Tuesday through Friday. Our younger son is full of smiles, alert, and enjoys crawling around and being out and about.
Describe your home setting: We live in a comfortable single-family home near downtown Boulder. Our backyard has flowers, a vegetable garden, and space to play. There are many young children in our neighborhood, and they like to visit each other's homes for spur-of-the-moment play dates.

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
Our nanny's main task will be to provide loving, responsible care for our children. Most of her or his time will be spent with our younger son; our older son will be home in the afternoons. We would also appreciate help with light housework like folding laundry, tidying the kitchen, and occasionally picking up groceries. Some days we will need help taking our older son to activities outside our home.
What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
We would like to hire a cheerful, active caregiver who is also willing to set limits and use gentle discipline when needed. We hope our nanny will be creative in finding ways to engage our boys -- through art projects, spending time outside exploring and playing, telling stories, cooking, and playing games.
What special certifications/requirements are you looking for?
We hope to find someone who is available to spend occasional overnights with the boys when we are out of town.

How many hours do you need a nanny for?
30-35 hours per week.
How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
$16-$18 per hour. We offer paid vacation days and holidays.

What else are you looking for in a nanny?
Our older son understands Spanish and is in a bilingual class in preschool. Our younger son is also familiar with Spanish. We would love to find a Spanish-speaking caregiver who can help both boys continue developing their language skills.
