Jennifer - $15- $20/hr Loving, Engaging Nanny for Sweet Toddler! Boulder Area

Nanny Job Details

Job ID: 5322
Location: Boulder, CO

Please describe your family:
We are a fairly low key, easygoing, animal loving family. We have just one child, a 15 month old. Dad has a flexible schedule and sometimes works from an office on the property. Mom has been full-time of late.

Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
I think I can be a better parent with a little time away, so I am looking for someone who can nurture our little one while I nurture myself.

Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
We have one 15 month old, who is full of wonder, inquisitiveness, and joy. He is a happy, observant and focused little boy. He plays well by himself and is intrigued by other children. He is not terribly interested in toys, but he loves sweeping the floor, spotting animals, going on walks and generally exploring the world. At times he is incredibly focused and quiet, other times he keeps up a nearly constant monologue. We think he is a lot of fun.

Describe your home setting: We (Mom, Dad, child) live in a single-family home on the edge of north Boulder, which can feel more rural than urban, but provides lots of opportunity for engaging with the outdoors, whether that is throwing sticks into the ditch or watching turkeys.

We are interested in the following:
Babysitter

How long do you need a Nanny?

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
Our primary concern is child care, but we would welcome your assistance tidying up toys along the way.

What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
He is quite thrilled if you are willing to sit nearby and engage with whatever has his attention, throwing balls, exploring the bicycle pump, etc. We do a fair bit of redirecting when he is interested in something that is not a toy, but otherwise mostly let him direct his own play. Walks and playing outside are fantastic. Storytime at the library is a big hit. General maintenance activities like diaper changing and feeding will be important.

What special certifications/requirements are you looking for?
CPR, non-smoker

Does this position require a valid driver's license?
Yes

Does this position require a car?
Yes

When will this position be available?
Start date is flexible

How many hours do you need a nanny for?
15 to 20 hours per week, we are flexible.

How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
$15-$20/hr, benefits negotiable.

Do you have any pets or animals in your home?
Yes! We have three dogs and chickens; they live outside.

What else are you looking for in a nanny?
We are looking for someone who is patient, joyful, empathetic, nurturing and consistent. Dependable and responsible go without saying when you are keeping a small person safe. And a loving, playful presence will go a long way toward keeping up with this one. We are looking for someone who is willing to be a model for a little boy who sees everything.
