We are an easy-going and happy family of four with no extended family nearby, just good friends and two cats. We have two children, 7 yrs and 5 yrs, and love them with all of our being. Dad travels a bit for work, but works from our home office when not traveling. Mom works full-time nearby. We love to ski and spend a lot of time in the mountains during the winter, and enjoy spending as much family time together as we can. Our children are active, happy and loving, and we are looking for someone to continue to foster that enjoyment of life, and that is comfortable working with our children and our family.
Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
We are looking for a part-time, after school nanny to provide a loving, creative, active and healthy environment for our children while we are working. If we cannot be with our children during the workday, we want to provide the best care we can find, to help nurture their souls and beings. Our daughter begins 2nd grade this fall, and our son begins kindergarten, and we would love to provide them a calm, but also fun!, nurturing environment at home after school. In addition, we'd like some help with dinner prep and feeding as they will be eating much sooner than us and going to bed early with the changes in school schedules.

Our daughter is 7 and begins 2nd grade August 16, and our son is 5 and startsKindergarten. Our son is very outgoing, busy, curious, polite, confident, and a generally happy soul. He has excellent language skills, and loves just about any activity out there. He is very inquisitive and thrives with 1:1 attention. Our daughter is a little fireball, with a lot of energy, but she is also sensitive, kind, and the best little helper you have ever met! They both love being outdoors, love reading, arts and crafts, and imaginative play with each other. They have both been historically enrolled in ski school, gymnastics and swimming as extra-curricular activities. They currently have no activities planned, but we may pick something up in the fall.
Describe your home setting: We live together in a single family home in a great neighborhood in northeast Boulder. We have several close friends on our street with children the same age as ours. Our kiddos love to play outside with their neighborhood friends, we spend a lot of time at the neighborhood park, riding bikes on the bike paths nearby, and playing in our sandbox in our backyard. We have finished our basement as a play space for our kids which is perfect timing for the upcoming winter.

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
Our primary focus is to find someone trustworthy and reliable to provide care and nurturing for our children. However, we would also appreciate assistance with light housekeeping, cooking for our children, laundry for the children and grocery shopping when possible.
What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
We are looking for someone who is fully engaged with our children and willing to give them their fully undivided attention. Given the time period is just in the afternoon after school, no themed programs are necessary, but we'd love help getting them focused on homework, or practice with writing, in addition to any art projects or outdoor play and relaxation. They both have some challenges with sitting and focusing for periods of time, so we are looking for someone with a lot of patience and who is able to help them redirect. Our son is ready to begin learning his letters and really loves reading books. We would love our nanny to support our son in learning the alphabet and continuing to foster his thirst for knowledge of all things around him. Both of our children love to help cook in the kitchen, and have really opened up their palettes with the advent of "helping" to cook in the kitchen. We are also looking for someone who is comfortable driving our children to various activities during the week, as necessary.

How many hours do you need a nanny for?
We are looking for a good long-term fit for our family, and are looking for help from 2:30-6pm Monday to Friday. We can offer up to 20 hours per if we include date night or extra household duties!

We are looking to pay $20/hour - willing to discuss rate depending on the experience of the candidate.
