Hello! We are a family of two, mom and three year old daughter, plus a yellow lab. I say it is not the number of people in the family that defines it, but how much love there is. By that measure, we are a huge family! I work from home and have sole custody of my daughter. We moved here from Washington, DC two years ago and love being outdoors. We are an active family and love to be involved in our community. We feel very blessed to have moved to such a welcoming place. We like to do things outside, both locally and on trips. Over the summer, we went on a camping trip that included seven other families with 16 kids! I also took my daughter to the beach for the first time. She loved the ocean! We like to hike, go to the park and spend time with friends. Our dog, Lucy, loves to go on walks where she can be off of her leash and run around! For now, the hours I am thinking are Monday - 10:00 - 2:00 (this would include, for now, taking my daughter to her gymnastics class). I could flex this to 11:30 - 3:30 some days and take her myself or we could alternate. Tuesday - 4:30 - 8:30 (I have a meeting 7:00 - 8:00, so if the person can not come till a little later than 4:30, that is ok). Wednesday or Thursday - 2:00 - 5:00. Friday - 11:30 - 2:30. Weekend: 4 hours during the day, I would prefer Sunday, something like 12-4. Open to 2 nannies sharing the position!
Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
I am a single mom, looking for someone to be involved in caring for and being a positive influence for my amazing three year old daughter. I work from home, so I need someone who can be with my daughter during some of my work hours and at other times to allow me to attend to other things. If you are reliable, nurturing, patient and energetic, we would love to meet you!
Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
My daughter is an extremely social, outgoing and active three year old! She really enjoys riding her bicycle, building sand castles, climbing the rock wall at the park and going hiking and camping. She much prefers to be outside and would sleep outside in her sleeping bag every night if I would let her! When inside, her favorite activities are building with blocks, putting puzzles together, reading books, playing kitchen, dancing and listening to music. She also loves her weekly gymnastics class. She loves to help me cook and clean. I have met many people because she is so social and walks up to people she's never met and asks "what's your name?" or what are you guys doing?. She is extremely curious about the world around her and loves to explore and ask a lot of questions. I love to watch the world through her eyes and have learned a lot from her. Everyone who meets her thinks she's a really amazing kid. I am the luckiest person in the world to be her mommy!

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
The top priority in this job is taking care of my daughter. The job sometimes would include preparing her lunch and cleaning the dishes from that. I would expect my nanny to help my daughter put her toys away and straighten up her play room. I am a single mom, so certainly would appreciate help with any other small tasks that the nanny wants to do!
What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
I want my nanny to play outdoors with my daughter in all seasons, including playing for short periods of time in the snow in the winter. While indoors, I would expect my nanny to read to my daughter and engage in the activities she is interested in. These include playing pretend kitchen, trains and cars, building, and doing art projects with her including coloring and crafts. She is also very into hide and seek right now! On occasion, I would like my nanny to take my daughter to her gymnastics class in Louisville.

How many hours do you need a nanny for?
I am in need for approximately 20 hours a week. While I will need a nanny on a long term basis, I won't know the exact summer and fall schedule for a few more months. Current schedule is listed above!
How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
$15/hour. I know I cannot pay as much as some families as I am a single mom, raising my daughter on my own. I hope you will let me make up for that with my sincere gratitude and our loving nature!
Do you have any pets or animals in your home?
We have an almost 6 year old yellow lab (who still thinks she's a puppy).
What else are you looking for in a nanny?
It is very important that I find someone who will work with me as a team to look out for my daughters best interests.
Additional comments:
I currently have an au pair, who will be leaving the country the first week of March. I'd love to have my new nanny babysit occasionally during January and February so that she and my daughter can get to know each other!
