Nanny Job Details

Job ID: 5350
Location: Lafayette, CO

Please describe your family:
My husband and I (and our senior dog Oscar) are expecting our first child, a baby boy on July 3rd, 2015. We are happy, funny, open, reliable and creative. We love gardening, home projects, cooking together and spending time outside.

Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
I plan to take the months of July, August and September off to be at home with my new little man :) During this time I will likely need some help (not sure how much to expect until the baby has arrived). This position could be filled by a temporary nanny. My husband works full time (9am-6:00pm) Monday through Friday. Beginning in October I will be working (9am-6:00pm) Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I plan to work from my office with my staff, however I may want to spend some time working from home as I transition back to the office in the fall. The hubby and I would also like someone to watch our son so that we can schedule a date night every now and then- maybe once or twice a month for a few hours!

We would like to find someone to care for our son in our home while we are working, our dog Oscar will go to work with my husband and I. It would be great for us all (hubby, myself and our nanny) to get to know our baby together a bit before I transition back to working at the office.

I would love to find someone with lots of infant and early childhood education experience, who is creative, nurturing, responsible, fun, active, patient and most of all loving. We want someone who understands child development and the importance of the early years. It is my hope that our nanny will care deeply for our baby and he for her. We are looking for a relationship that will grow with him over an extended period of time.

I am open to the nanny working any three consecutive days of the week, but prefer Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

How long do you need a Nanny?
1 Year

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
We like a tidy home and would like our nanny to pick up after the day so that we can enjoy our time in the evenings with our baby. We would also appreciate you doing light laundry and dishes associated with the baby, as needed. Since we love preparing a variety of foods, we would like our son to eat healthy and delicious meals once he is ready for food, that is! We will do the grocery shopping and plan meals for the week. Someone with an affinity and the ability to create tasty, healthy meals for him is important to us.

What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
We would like the nanny to cuddle and hold him in his wrap carrier, feed him (I will be breast feeding) and talk to him. Really give our baby a sense of connection and safety during the day, especially while he is an infant. Our neighborhood is a great place to take a walk, so having some time outside would be great too. We do not want him watching television or using electronics during the day as we want him to engage with you. Music is great! As he grows we would like him to have lots of creative play time and experience the outdoors. Over time we can work together to determine how best to provide just the right amount and type of stimulation for him during the day.

One Dog, 11years old and sweet. He will be going to the office with my husband every day
