We are an active and busy family of 6 with 4 young boys (6, 4, 1, 1). Our two older children both attend school (1st grade and morning preschool) while our younger boys remain home in the care of a nanny. My husband works in sales and I work part-time so that I am home and available to help care for my children in the late afternoon when everyone is home. My husband and I work from home on certain days of the week.
Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
Our three youngest sons will be the primary responsibility of the nanny during the day while I work. When my oldest son arrives home from school, I am home and care for the two older boys. We are looking for someone who radiates positive energy and has an upbeat temperament. The person should be comfortable in larger family settings and juggling the different needs of multiple children. As I will be home in the late afternoon, I am looking for someone who is open to a team parenting approach and is a good communicator. We value having fun and being outside and active as much as possible while following a predictable schedule for the children. Previous nanny experience with younger children is critical, as we need someone who is skilled in these different development phases. Reliable transportation is a must as we will need assistance with late morning bus pick up a couple times a week.
Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
Our oldest son is very sweet, inquisitive, thoughtful and imaginative. He adores Legos, being outside and building things. Our 4 year old is a very independent, funny and playful little guy who loves a good snuggle session. He enjoys long walks or bike rides and trying to do all the things his older brother does. Both boys have afternoon activities that I take them to. Our 13 month old twins have great budding personalities and enjoy exploring and reaching new milestones. They are fantastic nappers and are on a predictable schedule.
Describe your home setting: We live in a single-family pet-free home in a quiet Erie neighborhood. We are fortunate that our neighborhood is close to walking trails, downtown Lafayette and stores. Our community has 2 playgrounds and a pool. We are a busy, active family and love spending as much time outside as possible riding bikes, going for walks, playing at the park or in our backyard.

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
We need someone who is willing to do other childcare related tasks such as the children's laundry, children meal prep & clean up and organization of children's rooms/space.
What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
Engage the twins in age appropriate play (sensory activities, walks around the neighborhood, reading books, interactive gross motor play, supervise play with older siblings) as they progress in age. Develop "special time/ activities" with 4 year old such as baking, art projects, playing in the snow or reading when the twins nap.
What special certifications/requirements are you looking for?
Vaccinations are up to date and willing to have a flu shot. Twin experience a plus!

How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
$18-$20/ hr depending on experience. 6 paid holidays, 2 sick days and 2 weeks vacation.
