Heather - $35-$40K F.T. + Benefits! Amazing Nanny/House Manager for Newborn in N. Boulder!

Nanny Job Details

Job ID: 5405
Location: Boulder, CO

Please describe your family:
We are both founders and CEO's of separate companies and while we thrive on the fast past we tend to get pulled in multiple directions. On the positive side our positions allow us to be very flexible which will enable us to spend more quality time with our new arrival. We are a very close affectionate couple who use sarcasm and humor to defuse any occasional frustration and prefer to talk about any issues before they become problems. This means between us and with our family, friends, and soon to be nanny.

Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
After thinking about daycare versus a nanny we realized, with our schedules and the demands of our jobs/employees we need a more flexible/reliable situation. While this may mean one of us taking the baby mid-day Tuesday for a swim class, it may also mean support with household responsibilities like meeting with maintenance folks, running errands, or helping with laundry/cooking/straightening up.

Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
We are due with our first baby April 20th and other than a very active kicker and flipper we don't know much else! We are looking forward to being surprised by a girl or boy when our baby arrives!

Describe your home setting: We live in a cozy single family home with a great yard in North Boulder close to trails, parks and coffee shops.

We are interested in the following:
Babysitter
Nanny, Permanent

Full-Time/Part-Time?
Full-time

How long do you need a Nanny?
1 Year

Live-in/Live-out?
Nanny, live-out

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
Food prep/cooking (nothing too complex), grocery shopping, errand running, baby's laundry and clean up, once appropriate making homemade baby food.

What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
We are new to this but we certainly want someone active and engaging. Walks, hikes as the baby gets older maybe also with the dog (a.k.a. our fur-baby Zoe), engaging the baby to encourage early development. Possibly joining local classes or attending tumble room hours at the JCC. Someone who could start to speak Spanish with the kiddo would be a huge plus but not required!

What special certifications/requirements are you looking for?
Previous experience as a nanny and house manager/helper. While some people think they will be fine with light housework and travel it is best if they have had experience. Must be CPR certified and willing to receive basic vaccines (flu and Tdap) at our expense if they haven't been updated in the past 12 months.

Does this position require a valid driver's license?
Yes

Does this position require a car?
Yes

When will this position be available?
Start date is flexible

How many hours do you need a nanny for?
This job requires 35-40 hours per week. Specific hours will shift slightly but generally 8:30-5:30 M-TH and morning on Friday. There may be need to travel with mom and baby or family vacations.

How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
$35K-$40K - Benefits include paid vacation, sick days, holidays, option to join health insurance plan (BCBS we pay $150/month). After 1 year eligible to take part in 401K with up to 4% matching.

Do you have any pets or animals in your home?
Yes, Zoe our mutt who is our fur-baby and truly a member of the family. Mom usually takes her to work, if home, let out and would love joining for any walks. Nanny must love, not just tolerate, Zoe!

What else are you looking for in a nanny?
We are looking for someone to join our family as we make this new change. We have been reading and have our thoughts on child rearing philosophies but we're not naive to think we are not going to be learning as we go! Our ideal nanny is reliable, patient, honest and has a sense of adventure. Our lives and businesses move quickly and we are looking to find a member of our team who can be flexible and open with us. As much as we need someone to care for our baby we also want someone who is going to take some household tasks off our plates so we can spend as much time with our little one as we can! If it means they are doing errands or laundry so we have time to take the kiddo for a walk or to a class that may be the case.

Additional comments:
Ideally we would have someone help as mom is still on leave so she can work a couple mornings a week either from home or our Boulder office. If we find the exact right person and they need full-time right away we can discuss. Travel on vacation could be up to 3 weeks per year with the family and occasional 2 day trips with Mom for work at least while the baby is still breastfeeding. We almost always know the schedule 3-5 weeks in advance to help plan your own schedule. This position would start early to mid-May part time and full-time end of June. We look forward to hearing from you!
