We are a very active family who loves traveling, the outdoors, biking, hiking and walking our sweet dog. We value a gentle yet clear developmentally appropriate approach to parenting and childcare.
Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
We are looking for a nanny because we aren't ready to put our daughters in full time school before they are elementary school aged. We want them to enjoy the freedom of being little and exploring multiple environments and activities as well as the flexibility to stay home and snuggle on a rainy day.
Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
Our ~4-year-old is very verbal and outgoing. She loves getting lost in imaginative play, play dates, learning new games, outdoor time and a good book. She is a very strong willed and independent child, who requires gentle guidance and firm boundaries. She attends preschool daily from 1-4.
Our 1-year-old is happy to go along with whatever the day holds. She is easy going and most often takes two naps per day. She adores her sister (and the feeling is mutual!) and exploring her environment.
Describe your home setting: We live in a spacious home (happily married) near several parks and walking distance from literally anything you could need (Target, Michaels, Whole Foods, Great Play and Superior Learning Academy, Panera, among others). We have great neighbors, many who have children around the same age as ours and who enjoy get togethers.

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
Our job is very child centered - meal prep and clean up, toy area organization, bedroom tidying, occasional children's laundry or putting their clothes away. Occasional shopping a plus but not required.
What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
Reading, Arts and crafts, parks, library story times, children's museums, nature walks, children's events in Boulder/Louisville area, creative play. We find that getting the girls out of the house is often very worthwhile!
What special certifications/requirements are you looking for?
CPR/First Aid certified

What else are you looking for in a nanny?
We are seeking a nanny who enjoys being active, taking our daughters for walks, reading with them, singing/dancing and researching/playing developmentally appropriate activities. We need a nanny who can handle our spirited 4 year old during occasional melt downs by using redirection and alternate engagement strategies.
Additional comments:
My husband works out of the home and travels regularly for work 6 months out of the year (Sept-Feb). I work from a home office in a far corner of the house most days and occasionally from my office in Boulder. Our car is usually available to the nanny but if the nanny has a reliable car, we are able to provide carseats for her car too.
