Experience: I have extensive experience working with children. I worked in the Boulder Valley School District for two years teaching literacy with AmeriCorps. During that time I was also a nanny for a Boulder family. I nannied for that family for three years. I also worked for Avid 4 Adventure. Avid is a local Boulder outdoor education company. I worked summer camps for two years and eventually became one of their directors. I have classroom teaching experience as well as outdoor education experience. I have experience teaching children to rock climb, kayak, canoe, and bike.

Interests and hobbies:I am extremely passionate about the outdoors. I enjoy skiing, hiking, climbing, dog sledding, horse back riding, and biking. I also love to cook and bake. I spend a lot of time reading and painting. I love animals, especially my dog Jazz. I enjoy spending time in the mountains and on the beach. I love to travel and have a special place in my heart for Central and South America. I enjoy studying and speaking Spanish.

Describe your childcare style:I really enjoy letting the child show me what he/she is interested in doing and then taking it from there. I am able to play and be silly, however, I can set firm boundaries with children when needed. I enjoy teaching children and I am constantly amazed at what children can teach me. I really try to keep children away from the TV by encouraging them to be creative and to enjoy time outdoors.

What activities do you like to do with children:I love to read and play games, cook and bake. I enjoy going outside with children and hiking or biking. I also like to work on homework and help with school work.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?A good nanny needs to be responsible, dependable and to have good judgment. A nanny also has to be extremely caring and compassionate. I feel it also helps to be silly, creative and goofy. A nanny should also be flexible and easy-going.
