Experience: I am a graduate student with a large amount of childcare experience. I have been an on-call babysitter and summer nanny since the age of 16. I have also worked as an assistant preschool teacher. I have cared for children from ages 1 to 10. Last year I worked for a family with two children ages 6 and 10 part-time after school. Experience with the following age groups: Most of my experience is with children 4-11, but I have cared for and am completely comfortable caring for children of infant, toddler, and older ages. Interests and hobbies:I love art and cooking. Making a nice meal with friends or going to a gallery are two of my favorite things to do. I also love to take advantage of all the great outdoor things that Colorado has to offer. I love to ski and cycle, as well as do yoga and rock climb. I also like to read, play the flute, and listen to music. Describe your childcare style:I come to the table with a lot of ideas for activities, but I find it best to let children choose what they are most interested in. I like to make learning fun for them so that they learn to love it and do not shy away from learning new things. Patience, fun, and firmness are three things that I believe children need from me as the person caring for them. What activities do you like to do with children:Art projects and learning projects with children can be so much fun. These are projects where we go out to the library, the park, the zoo, or wherever else, and find out everything we can about something about which the child is curious. Cooking with kids is also often a fun task, though you have to watch them to make sure they stay safe. All of the wonderful parks and nature trails in the area also make for wonderful play opportunities. Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I think that children can teach me just as much as I can teach them. They give me energy and brighten my day. What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?Creative, patient, flexible, outgoing, reliable, happy. Additional comments: |
