Experience: I have been babysitting for almost 10 years and have worked with kids of every age group. I am experienced in intermittent babysitting jobs as well as part time nannying. I have tutored children from grades 3 through 6, both in Denver and in South Africa. I assisted for a 2nd grade teacher in Broomfield, and I also assist as a Sunday School teacher in my church. Beyond babysitting, I am capable of cooking, running errands, light cleaning, house sitting, and pet sitting.

Experience with the following age groups: I have worked with children of almost every age, from 6 months to 12 years. I am studying to earn my Elementary Teaching License, so I enjoy school age kids, but I also have a huge soft spot for babies.

Interests and hobbies:I am interested in teaching after I graduate, so I love working with kids on reading, writing, and creative expression. I am very active and love the outdoors. I spend a lot of time hiking, running, going to the pool, and snowboarding. I also enjoy traveling and bringing home experiences from different cultures.

Describe your childcare style:I believe it is important to understand what each family I meet values in raising their children. I will stick to the rules the parents have set for the household, but I am also capable of making instinctive decisions for the benefit of the child in difficult situations. I think the most important aspect of childcare is to be actively interacting with children, rather than passively watching over them. Engaging in this way helps to empower children and show that I respect them and care about them. I love to have fun with kids while ensuring they are behaving appropriately. I always remember it is my responsibility to keep them safe, healthy, and happy.

What activities do you like to do with children:My favorite activities are active and outside. I love playing games, playing sports, sidewalk chalk, biking, swimming, etc. I also love outings with kids, whether it is to a local park, the pool, going on a picnic, museums, or whatever else the kids are interested. Indoors, I like to encourage creative activity through arts and crafts or making up games. I always enjoy letting the kids decide what they want to do, but try to limit tv and video games.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I look for any job opportunity that allows me to work with kids. I have developed skills in communicating with and understanding children that allows me to help foster growth and learning development. Children bring me so much joy and excitement and I always look forward to forming relationships with the kids I work with. I am planning on teaching for a living, and nannying is a job that allows me to continue to learn about, as well as learn from, different children.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?Responsibility and reliability are absolutely essential. I look forward to showing families that I can be trusted with their children, and that I can be depended upon to do whatever the job requires of me. It is important for a nanny to be patient, caring, respectful, and nurturing. I am a very easy going person, but I take my responsibilities seriously and will put the needs of the kids first. I aim to set a tone of mutual respect from the beginning in order to form a good relationship.

Additional comments:I am open to any type of babysitting this summer, and would love to help any family out who is in need. I look forward to meeting new families and their kids.
