Experience: I am have been working with children for 7 years now! I started babysitting in Texas when I was 15 years old and worked for three separate families with children ages 18 mo to 12 years old before moving to Colorado in January of 2012. After I moved to Colorado, I was hired as a full time nanny to a 2 year old boy and stayed with them for just short of a year. During this time, I also worked for a family with two little boys age 18 mo and 2 years. Most recently, I have been with a family since the birth of their now 5 mo old son and their two daughters, age 4 and 7. My duties with them include all aspects of caring for their baby boy, picking up the girls from school, helping with homework, organizing their home, and occasionally cooking dinner for the family. I become really close with every family I work for and still have dinners and play dates with the kids from all previous families to keep in touch. In addition to working for families, I also volunteer in the nursery at my church on the weekends and watch little ones age 0 through 3 during church services.

Experience with the following age groups: Newborn to 12 years

Interests and hobbies:I love being outdoors hiking, swimming, and camping. I also enjoy reading, crafting, watching movies, baking, photography, and spending time with family and friends.

Describe your childcare style:I enjoy letting kids be themselves and have fun while maintaining structure and safety. I believe it is important for kids to be happy and healthy and consistently learning new things. I am a big fan of keeping the TV off as much as possible and engaging in other activities like playing games outside or reading. I also think it is important to listen to children when they are speaking and help them figure out how to communicate their feelings and ideas.

What activities do you like to do with children:I love being outdoors! I love taking kids on walks or hikes, playing at the park, going to the zoo, swimming at the pool, or riding bikes. I also love reading with children, playing board games, coloring, doing arts and crafts, and baking.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I love being around children and watching them develop and grow. I enjoy getting to know a family and spending quality time with them, and I am constantly learning from children. I feel like nowadays, it is so easy to get bogged down with work, finances, and life, and we forget what it is like to live in the moment. Being around children encourages me to slow down, live in the moment, and see things through their eyes.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?I believe that a good nanny is patient, kind, caring, a good listener, able to communicate openly, able to set boundaries, calm, creative, observant, and organized.

Additional comments:I am looking forward to working with your family and spending time with your children!
