Experience: I have experience with all ages from newborn to 17 years old. I cared for and babysat both my younger brothers from the time they were born. I was an overnight camp counselor for forestry camp for two summers during college. I worked for three years with children and young teens with autism and other developmental diseases in a habilitation and respite setting. I also was an ABA therapist for 1.5 years working with younger children with autism. I utilized pivotal response treatment strategies and natural style of therapy. I also lived with and helped care for my 6 month old niece and occasionally babysit both of my nieces (who are now 4 years and almost 2 years old).

Experience with the following age groups: Newborns, infants, toddlers, and school aged children up to age 17, as well as children with special needs.

Interests and hobbies:My overall passion in life is learning. There are so many ways to learn in the world today. The two forms of learning I like best are reading and traveling to new places. I love being outdoors, hiking, and camping. I like working out, yoga, cooking, and playing games. As far as sports, I love playing tennis, softball, and volleyball. I also love libraries, used book stores, and coffee shops.

Describe your childcare style:When I am around children, I love to let them take the lead as far as choosing the activity or toys they want to play with. I enjoy playing alongside them and participating in their imaginative play. I am very easy-going. I know how to easily set boundaries and follow through with expectations.

What activities do you like to do with children:I really love reading to kids and helping them learn. Going to the library is one of my favorite things to do. I love being outside, so taking a blanket and a few books or toys to the park is always fun. I love witnessing children learning and developing new skills. I would also love to do some crafty projects like finger painting or decorating cookies.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I have always loved being around children. Whenever a child is meeting me for the first time, they are usually attached to me within the first 10 minutes. I would really love to continue being involved in the lives of children.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?Responsibility, punctuality, reliability, flexibility, and patience. Definitely a love for children is a must! Also, strong communication and interpersonal skills help maintain the good relationship between nanny and parents.
