Experience: When I was 13 I took a Babysitting course at my local Town Hall and acquired my Babysitters License, which we use to need in the state of CT to legally babysit. Since then, I have been nannying and babysitting for multiple families. I started babysitting for many of the families in my neighborhood as needed and have loved and enjoyed the job ever since. During my summer of 8th grade, going into 9th, I helped out at a day camp called Park N Rec and helped watch the children and plan activties for them. In 2011 I began babysitting for a family that had a 9 month old daughter and I watched her part time. I adored the little girl and she adored me and I watched her until she was 19 months. Unfortunatley, I had to stop due to a changing of schedules, but I still keep in touch with the family. I also taught her some of the simple baby sign language signs! It was amazing to watch her grow, from crawling to walking, to running. After experiencing such great memories with that family I came to realize that no job could compare to a job like nannying. I abosolutely love what I do and have plenty of experience with children of all ages.

Experience with the following age groups: Infants to school age

Interests and hobbies:I love incooperating as many activites as I can into fun outdoor activites! I enjoy hiking, playing sports, walking, cooking, reading, and more! I also am a very creative person and like thinking of fun games that allow children to learn while laughing and playing at the same time. I usually look on Pinterest (a fun creative iphone app) to get ideas for everyday arts and crafts. The kids I watch now really enjoy looking for fun holiday ideas and then creating them together. It is a great way to get kids excited for when I nanny.

Describe your childcare style:I believe that it is important to intergrate as much learning, creativity and imagination into the games and activities that a child plays as possible. I know children are all about having fun and I am all for that as long as it involves appropriate and safe activites! I am very patient and caring as well and know that each child learns and absorbs things differently. When it comes to the event of a child misbehaving or acting out, I do believe in time outs. I also believe that the nanny should make sure the child knows how they misbehaved and what they could have done to avoid a time out. I seldomly have to give any time outs since I usually can see a tantrum or some sort of misbehavior coming and know how to redirect the child and help them avoid an issue. It is also important to know the parents style and follow what they would like done in each circumstance.

What activities do you like to do with children:I love being outdoors and going for walks with the children or playing fun games in the yard. In the winter, I find it fun to bundle up and go outside and build a nice big snowman or stay in and read books, do an art project or play some board games. When it comes to infants, I try to engage in developmental and stimulating activites, such as trying to teach simple baby sign language signs, listening to music or just being social and talking to them about what I am doing. That way they can hear your voice and slowly begin to recgonize some small words.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I adore being around children and helping them in daily learning. I find it fun to laugh with kids and be a postive influence and role model in their lives. Children are so innocent, and that is why at these formative ages it is so important to encourage positive attitudes and outlooks! I just simply enjoy being around infants and children of all ages and being someone to help keep them safe and happy!

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?I think the most important qualities a nanny must have is to genuinely love children, be responsible, and keep the children safe and out of harms way. A nanny should arrive on time as scheduled, help out around the house as asked and keep in contact with the parents at all times. The family who hired the nanny is trusting him or her with their most precious cargo, their children, and that should always be a nannys priority . Keep the children safe and have fun while doing it!

Additional comments:Thank you for taking your time to read my profile, I hope you consider me as a nanny! I look forward to hearing from you and meeting you.
