Experience: I have always loved kids. I started watching children when I was 15 as a summer youth counselor. After 3 years as a youth counselor, I chose to start my professional career as a nanny. Since 2008, I have been a nanny off and on for several families. I take great pride in my expertise as a nanny and support the day-to-day needs and activities for each family and child I care for.

Experience with the following age groups: Ive worked with children of all ages. From newborn to toddlers and elementary age.

Interests and hobbies: My interests inside include baking, cooking, scrapbooking, yoga and reading. Outside, I enjoy doing anything active. I love sports, going to the pool and parks in the summer and finding new things to do in beautiful Colorado!

Describe your childcare style:I believe that taking care of and raising children is one of the most important jobs a person can ever have. Its my responsibility to always make sure children are safe, happy, secure and disciplined. For discipline, I believe in using the time out method and natural consequences. I give warnings, appropriate to the incident and age. I dont believe in debating with children. I believe in handling discipline in a matter of fact manner and establishing consequences for actions. I also believe that discipline should be handled in a manner that allows the children to keep their dignity and self worth intact. I do expect manners to be used when necessary and will hold myself to the same expectations. As children get older, I believe in consequences that fit the action. Most importantly I believe the only effective discipline is done with consistency. I also believe that in order for children to prosper, they need a lot of love, attention and affection. I aim to bring up children with a strong self esteem, character and healthy self respect.

What activities do you like to do with children:With children, I love to keep their imaginations going and try to switch up daily activities. I think its very important to make sure children are kept active. Its important to ensure the child is getting academic and social stimulation throughout the day. Whether that is indoors reading, doing crafts, cooking or building a fort. I love taking advantage of the beautiful weather we have in Colorado. Going to the park, playing soccer, basketball, going to museums, riding bikes and much more!

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I have been a nanny off and on for 6 years. Being a nanny is such a huge responsibility and is one of the most rewarding jobs Ive ever had. The fun I have with the children, the opportunity to be imaginative and creative, the variety offered by the job, helping children grow, explore and learn about life, the positive responses and appreciation I receive from a child is what makes being a nanny so wonderful.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?I think there are several important qualities in a nanny. First, love of children and having a genuine passion for kids. Second, enthusiastic. Being a nanny can be exhausting and I believe it is important to come to work every day with an enthusiastic and excited attitude. Third, FUN. Being a child is all about having fun and being silly. I always try to plan fun, engaging well rounded activities ahead of time. At the same though, the idea of nurturing a child is at the heart of a nannys role. Being able to connect on a deep level, build a safe, loving relationship and offer a stable environment are all important elements of being a nanny. Ive always been a reliable, trustworthy and flexible nanny. Being punctual and having good time management skills will keep everything and everyone on the right track. Last but not least, communication. I like to feel as if I am part of the family I work for. I strive to have a very close relationship with the parents and children. Making sure we are all on the same page and can openly talk with one another.

Additional comments:I will always treat your child or children, as if they were my own. Treating them with the upmost respect, love and care they deserve. Taking care of children has enriched my life in many ways, and I continuously learn and grow through the childrens growth and development. My personal goal has always been to have a family of my own and provide a healthy, happy, safe and secure environment for them.
