Experience: Childcare has always been my first passion. As soon as I was old enough, I began babysitting for all the neighborhood children when I was 13. My career as a professional nanny began 8 years ago. Much of my experience is with infants, toddlers and preschoolers. My most recent position was caring for two wonderful boys who were ages 3 years and 6 months when I started with them. All throughout college I nannied for two families with children of various ages and prior to that I nannied for a very fun girl with special needs. I pride myself on being skilled in all tasks related to childcare; meal prep, bathing, facilitating play dates, making both daily routines and weekly schedules, drop off and pick ups, classes, camps, potty training and more.

Experience with the following age groups: Infant Toddler Preschool School Age Special Needs

Interests and hobbies:I spend much of my free time volunteering at church and for a non profit which works in Uganda, primarily focusing on educating the community and giving kids resources for learning. I have taken up crocheting and enjoy doing crafts. I recently moved to Boulder with my husband so we are enjoying exploring the area and spending time in the mountains.

Describe your childcare style:I am fun, nurturing, and loving. I believe in making a safe space for children to learn and grow. I believe children do well when they are given limits as well as opportunities to express themselves and make choices.

What activities do you like to do with children:I love activities that get us outdoors and get us learning! Going to the children's museum, the library, the aquarium, playing at the park, playing with balls, trains, cars, and scooters outdoors. I love to take kids swimming when they are old enough. I was a lifeguard in high school and I love when kids learn to swim early in life! I believe reading is so important so I always do the summer reading program at the library and spend some time every day reading our books. Play dates and classes are important for socialization and for keeping us busy!

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? Being a nanny is my dream job. Rather than sit in an office all day I get to spend time with some adorable kiddos. I get to invest in the lives of a few very special kids and help them grow into wonderful young people. There is nothing more rewarding.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter? The ability to be fun and silly while also setting boundaries and structure. Patience and compassion as children test the limits of their world. Forethought and planning to make the week go smoothly and results in never having bored kids!
