Level of education: I have a BA in Business

Additional skills or certifications: I can hold my own with most kids sports activities until the kids outskill me around 8 to 10 years old depending on the sport and how long they have practiced it! Generally a willing rebounder is good enough to assist them in their practice needs and I love watching their skills advance.

Experience: I have 7 years of parenting, years of volunteer work in elementary schools and 8 plus years of babysitting through high school and college followed by more than 3 years of live-in nanny experience.

Interests and hobbies:I am passionate about outside activities of all sorts, hiking, biking, swimming, ice skating, skiing, yardcare/gardening, dinner on the patio with great food and friends, travel and exploring new places, and cozy inside entertainment too, like reading, games, cooking and baking.

Describe your childcare style:My childcare style is based on the belief that modeling behavior and values that I want to see is the best way to share them. Helping children grow physically requires care that includes healthy food, adequate sleep and respect and acceptance of each person as an individual.

What activities do you like to do with children:Children are most often game for a huge variety of activities which can be entertainment or even work that they see as fun. Everyday offers opportunities for enriching and positive interactions as simple as walking the dog or doing laundry to making dinner or going to the pool or library or museum or finding bugs in the back yard. It is all good if you approach it as such.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I love working with kids because it is so fun! Helping children learn something new or learn about themselves is very rewarding and supporting families in such a way as to help them build their relationships, memories and history is very worthwhile work and I work hard to do it well, but playing with kids is just so fun and frequently very funny too.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?Qualities that I think are important in a nanny are patience, patience, patience. I believe that the best nannies can see children for who they are and what they can become and not what someone or society wants them to be. Growing up now is very challenging and kids need great support to feel good about who they are and the confidence to persevere through difficult situations because they always come. Allowing some independence is the essential flip so they develop confidence in their abilities to handle situations solo.Working with kids is a lot easier if you can adapt quickly.
