Experience: I have recently earned a Masters Degree in Education, specializing in Special Education. I have extensive experience with children on the Autism spectrum, behavioral challenges, emotional, mental and physical disabilities. I have been in the childcare field since I was 12 years old, most trusted babysitter on the block! I worked with a family as a nanny for four years throughout high school for two boys, one on the Autism Spectrum. I have taught yoga to children 3 to15 and spent two years in college student teaching in Physical Education classrooms. During the same years that I earned my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology focused in Physical Education, I was also an Outdoor Activity Leader for an afterschool program. I am also an Aunt of 5 and consider myself very involved with their nurturing and education.

Experience with the following age groups: Experience with newborns all the way to teenagers.

Interests and hobbies:OUTSIDE! My hobbies are mostly done outside and I love to bring my passion to the kids I work with as well. The following is a list of sports and activities I am able to teach and play with confidence: yoga, hiking, climbing, biking, kayaking, swimming, baseball/softball, volleyball, tennis, football, dance, and many more! I am also a personal chef and love to teach kids about nutrition, health and cooking! Kids love to be kitchen helpers and not only are they learning how to prepare and cook food, they also love learning about nutrition! I really enjoy sharing my love for food through gardening as well! My three dogs are my fur children, I would love to help take care of family pets because I know how valuable dogs and cats are to a childhood. My dogs have been some of my best teachers and I love to help dogs to behave and play well with kids. I think a happy (and well exercised dog) can make a family that much stronger.

Describe your childcare style:Building self esteem and confidence is one of the most important things I can do as a nanny. I encourage children to develop a strong sense of self, which means that I empower them to try things on their own and use me as a guide and instructor. Although I like to build independence within children, I am also very nurturing, warm and affectionate. I love to spend time listening to what children have to say, again they have ben my greatest teachers. I like to keep our time together structured because I think that most children do best with a structured schedule. It is important to me to have time to spend outside, exercising but also reading and playing educational games or doing creative activities. I have experience with challenging behaviors and allow children to feel their emotions. As long as a child is safe, I encourage them to express how they are feeling and why and come up with a solution together.

What activities do you like to do with children:I like to use the childrens own interest as a guide to our daily plan, however, I think it is important for children to thrive in new situations as well and experience as much as they can. I enjoy physical activities, learning activities, museums, reading, art, music, gardening and creative play.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I am truly passionate about working with children and especially teaching them through experiences in nature and the outdoors. Children have been my best teachers, I am inspired by them and they are inspired by me. I am very energetic yet balanced and can offer many new experiences to children. My goal is to touch lives in a positive way through education and experiences. Having parents feel confident that their children are in good hands is important to the children, family and community.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter? Most important are Reliability, Consistency, Confidence, Nurturing, Adventurous, Patient, Adaptable, Flexible, Honest, and Organized.

Additional comments:I am looking forward to meeting your family!
