Experience: I have been working with children for 17 years with infants through school age children. I have worked in different daycare settings and have been a nanny for two and a half years to two wonderful boys. Outside of caring for the boys everyday needs, we spend time at the library, park, taking art and music classes, or just at home reading books, playing, or doing arts and crafts. I have experience using simple baby sign language and have seen the positive benefits it has on childrens verbal communication development.

Experience with the following age groups: I have worked with children from 6 weeks through 12 years. Most of my experience has been with infants, toddlers, and preschool. I taught kindergarten for 4 years and helped with summer camp for children ages 5 to 12 years.

Interests and hobbies:Arts and crafts, scrapbooking, playing games, and reading. I also enjoy taking walks.

Describe your childcare style:I am very much child centered. While there are times I do initiate activities, I love letting the kids take the lead in the activities they choose. I think it is important to follow schedules set by the family when it comes to meal times and nap times to maintain consistency, but understand that children change from one day to the next so their schedules may also vary a little.

What activities do you like to do with children:Arts and crafts, reading, playing games, going to the park, taking walks, music, imaginative play, motor skills and developmental activities. I also enjoy being able to take the kids to music and art classes, to the library, or to play places like the rec center or childrens museum.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I love being a nanny because it gives me the opportunity to provide the children with one on one attention and participate in more individualized activities. It allows the children time to do what they want to do, when they want to do it. I also love growing with a family and becoming a part of not just their family, but their childrens growth and development!

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?Patient, engaging, loving, flexible, organized, and interactive.
