Experience: I started out babysitting in high school then moved on to being a camp counselor which is when I fell in love with childcare. Since then I have been a nanny for the last 4 years, a date night sitter and also worked for another camp.

Interests and hobbies:Outside of childcare I love to study and create artwork. I am a nature lover and enjoy outdoor sports such as hiking, skiing and rock climbing. I also love going to see live music and traveling the world.

Describe your childcare style:Before working with a family I like to get a deep understanding of their parenting style and follow their lead. On my own I feel that my childcare style is respect, no matter how young. keeping in mind that a child of any age is a person and deserves to be listened to and respected helps build a relationship with the child. For me, I feel that when a child trusts and respects you things go a lot smoother and we are able to have more fun that way!

What activities do you like to do with children:I always want to make sure the kids that I am looking after get a well rounded experience. Depending on the weather I plan to always take the kids outside, could be to a park or just in the back yard but getting some fresh air is important. Another aspect is sparking the creativity in a child, which could be through dramatic play, singing and dancing or doing some sort of arts and crafts. I also strive to include an educational side to my nannying which changes dependent on the age of the child.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I have always loved working with kids and find that I enjoy the experience more nannying because I am able to make a lasting connection with the kids helping me to feel that my work is meaningful.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?To me, the important qualities for a nanny to possess are kindness, respect, patience, responsibility and lightheartedness!
