Experience: Years of experience as a nanny and childcare provider. Former WSI, lifeguard, volleyball coach, Special Olympics Coach, Equine Therapy Assistant, and SoccerTots instructor. I also volunteered in an AIDS clinic for babies in South Africa.

Experience with the following age groups: From newborns to teenagers! I have experience changing diapers, feeding, and entertaining all the way up to helping a teenager gain enough driving experience in order to obtain their license.

Interests and hobbies:I am very active and love to play outside. Sand Volleyball, Wakeboarding, Camping, Boating, Backpacking, SUP, and Kickball were part of my routine this summer. I also love to read and always have 1 to 2 books in my bag!

Describe your childcare style:Fun, educational, and patient. I love to have fun with kids and always try to come up with activities and creative projects to do. I also think it is important to continue learning through various activities, not just through homework and school projects. Little tidbits of trivia, sharing an interesting story, or practicing Spanish are all fun ways to promote education without it feeling like a chore. Finally, patience is key with kids. I always listen to kids when they are upset, and try to view a situation from their perspective. I also explain the reasoning behind a decision instead of defaulting to a cookie cutter explanation.

What activities do you like to do with children:I love to play outside whenever possible: swimming, riding bikes, and going to the park are all fun and help burn off energy! I am also a planner, this means preparing ahead of time an outing to the Aquarium or Butterfly Pavilion, for example, or bringing a fun project to work on. I always make time for reading before bed, this is one of my favorite parts of the day!

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I enjoy spending my time with kids and the fun we have together. The friendships I have formed with kids I have babysat in the past have lasted through the years, and it is great to see them excel in sports and school.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?Patience, fun, happiness, energy and care. Being a fun, effervescent nanny is important because this shines through to the child and makes the prospect of a babysitter coming over an omen, not a curse. Having some common sense as well as experience in child care is essential in order to maintain the safety and well being of the children in your stead as a nanny.

Additional comments:My number one goal is to have fun with the kids while still getting the homework done! I love it when I hear that kids are excited to have me come over to spend time with and care for them, it means I am achieving my goal!
