Experience: I started babysitting six years ago when my nephew was born. I quickly learned to care for an infant by meeting his every need, such as changing diapers, bathing him, preparing formula, and safely playing with him. As he grew up, I learned to keep him busy by playing outside, reviewing the alphabet, learning his numbers and colors, baking cookies, drawing and coloring, reading and making sure he was safe while having fun! Along with caring for him, I was a camp host at a local rock climbing gym in Texas. I worked with children ages 5 to 13 at summer and holiday climbing camps. I would teach them basic climbing skills while simultaneously making sure they were engaged in creative rock climbing games. In the fall of 2012 through the spring of 2013 I was able to give back to the rock climbing community I had been involved with for nine years by coaching the pre team, ages 4 to 13. I would work with a group of at least six kids and teach them safety, climbing techniques, work ethic, and mind set. Everything we worked on was to prepare the children for the competitive climbing team they would soon be apart of. The best part of this job was developing great friendships with the kids and watching them progress in a sport they loved!

Experience with the following age groups: Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, School age.

Interests and hobbies:I love rock climbing! For nine years I was a nationally ranked competitive rock climber. As a result, I love traveling and meeting new people. I also enjoy being outside, climbing, hiking, or exploring. I like learning how to cook or bake new things. When it is time to relax I will watch movies, hang out with friends and family, or play with my two cats!

Describe your childcare style:When taking care of a child or children, I make sure to set boundaries while simultaneously making sure the child feels safe, loved, and happy!

What activities do you like to do with children:I like to keep children active by taking them outside whenever possible. Being outdoors is very important to me, therefore, I love taking them to the park, playing games outside, swimming, or hiking. If the weather keeps us inside, baking or cooking is great fun, arts and crafts, puzzle's, imaginative play or a childrens movie is great. If possible, I would be interested in going to the zoo, aquarium, childrens museum, or even the local farmers market, and of course, I would love to take them to the climbing gym if appropriate!

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I am interested in working as a nanny or babysitter because being involved with a child's development is very rewarding and fun! Since I am a kid at heart, I love spending time with them as they learn and grow!

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?I believe a nanny or babysitter should be patient, caring, attentive, energetic, fun, and understanding.

Additional comments:I look forward to meeting you and your child or children and having the privilege of being a part of your family!
