Experience: I worked with a family who had 3 children. Twins starting ages 6 and an 8 year old. They were a handful, but a blast, we had a lot of fun! On a school day I would wake up the boys to get ready for school, help pick out clothes, get dressed, make lunches, give medications, make breakfast and put boys on the bus. Following I would wake up the daughter help pick out clothes, put hair up, make breakfast, help with extra studying before school and then walk her to school. While the children were at school I would do laundry, buy groceries, take out trash, organize rooms, clean up toys as needed. When returning from school we would do homework, have snacks, drive to appointments or activities. Preparing dinner, showers, pajamas, bed time stories were their nightly routine. I also would organize creative projects and provide arts and crafts activities for the children in their down time. The boys loved legos and other building activities. The daughter was more into painting, drawing, and fashion. I would also supervise their play dates. The children all had different levels of ADHD so it was important to maintain a schedule, keep them focused, busy and work on behavioral techniques. I have worked with people with Down Syndrome and Autism. I learned so much and really loved it there! I worked with all ages from 8 years old to 62! Training included Skip certification, CPR and First aid certifications, dietary plans, and medical training. A day consisted of helping with homework, making dinner, going to planned activities in the village, going on outings, playing games, teaching everyday living skills, art projects, hygiene, showers, and putting to bed. I also worked part-time four days a week with an infant starting at 6 months old. Daily duties included changing diapers, feeding baby formula, taking to park, helping learn to crawl, walk, Doctors appointments, putting down for naps, flash cards, reading stories and following a bedtime routine. While baby was napping I would pick up house, wash dishes, clean up toys and clean up any messes that were created!

Experience with the following age groups: I have worked with ages 6 months to 10 years old. I also have two nephews that I have watched grow up and babysat for plenty of times, and they are now 5 and 10. I really feel comfortable with all ages though!

Interests and hobbies:I love to hike and recently just finished the entire Appalachian Trail! I also grew up playing soccer, softball, basketball and they are all still things I love to participate in! Staying creative is really important in my life so I am either playing guitar and singing or painting, drawing, making installations, or some other form of art. Traveling and living a healthy lifestyle are also constants in my life.

Describe your childcare style:I would say my childcare style is to basically become part of the family, be a great role model and someone the children can look up to!

What activities do you like to do with children:Since I went to art school I love to do arts and crafts of course! Also anything outdoors, that gets the blood flowing and energy out on things like hiking, swimming, biking, and dancing! Cooking is fun if the children are old enough, play board games, and cards, whatever the child is into really!

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I am interested in working as a Nanny because it is such a fun and rewarding job! It is nice to know you are making a positive difference in the familys life and they are also doing the same for you!

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?I believe the qualities all Nannies and Babysitters should have are patience, punctuality, creativity, dependability, and be able to have fun even on the hard days, including the abillity to make the best out of every situation! They should be firm when needed but still be loving and kind.

Additional comments:I am new to Boulder and am really excited to live here and meet new familys in the area!
