I have great common sense and the ability to read kids minds, I think I know every look and trick in the book! My kids always said, how do you do it mom, how do you know what we are doing all the time? I told them I have eyes in the back of my head. My son actually looked in my hair. Ha, trick is, I put mirrors around the house. He laughs now and calls that genius!

Describe your childcare style:My philosophy is to let children be children. I like to let them learn through creative play. I believe in socializing children, taking them to parks, play places where other children are so they can just have fun. I have found thoughout my experience as a Daycare Provider and as a mom, is that children do not have enough social skills. I do not believe in forced learning. I like to teach children about the world around them and all the joy that life can bring. Kids grow up too fast, this should be a fun time! I have had lots of parents who are teachers who love that philosophy, and also believe that they will have a life time of school. Right now, before preschool they just need to play and be happy! I like to teach children to value things like people, nature and animals. It is important to teach manners and that being polite is a good thing. I have found that giving children rules, boundaries and limitations are important to good social behavior. Toss in a lot of Love, kindness, admiration and affection, you have the makings for well rounded children. I have kids that started in my Daycare who are now in college, and high school, they still stop by to see me and spend time with me in the summer!

What activities do you like to do with children:I like to take them on nature walks and teach them the value of nature and living things. I use nature in art. I like to teach them to make things out of household items. Simple things around the house like toilet paper rolls, milk jugs etc. Painting, other crafts, water play, going to the Zoo, Museum, walks. I always ask if there is something they would like to do first. A good tea party is always fun to do!

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I have spent the majority of my life around kids! They give me great joy in watching them learn new things and playing. I love watching their little minds explore and solve problems and using their imaginations. I would enjoy growing and bonding with a family!

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?I think first and foremost that it is impotant that the children feel comfortable and relaxed with her, and hat they feel trust. A nanny has to have a lot of patience and good listening skills. A good nanny will step into that role wholeheartedly. She will work with the parents on how they choose to discipline their child and to have an open dialogue of communication. The nanny should always be on the same page with the parents when it comes to communication, discipline and all other house rules. Also to laugh a lot!
