Experience: I have grown up caring for children. I have a younger sibling that, from the age of about 12 years old, I would stay at home and care for. As I got older, I would babysit for the children of family friends. Right out of college, I accepted a teaching position and spent 4 years shaping the lives of fifth graders, so I have plenty of experience with school age children as well. For the past year, I took on the role as nanny for a wonderful family with two children ages, 2 and four. My primary role right now is being a mom to a beautiful almost 2 year old little girl. There truly is no way to measure the amount of experience gained through raising your own child.

Experience with the following age groups: Newborn, infant, toddler, preschool and school age.

Interests and hobbies:Health and wellness is definitely a passion of mine. I take good care of my body through exercise and eating right and enjoy any type of activity that promotes health. Along with that, cooking has become a more recent hobby. I enjoy preparing healthy and satisfying meals for my family. I have always been an avid reader, it is easy for me to get involved in a good book.

Describe your childcare style:I am naturally a very structured person, and being an elementary teacher for four years, that desire for structure and routine has only continued to develop. I do believe that children thrive on structure and routine throughout the day, so as a nanny I like to try to plan each day out. I also believe that children desire opportunities to grow their minds. Maybe it is the teacher in me, but I try to employ as many learning opportunities as possible, whether that be through a game, craft, trip to the library or to the park.

What activities do you like to do with children:I am an outdoor girl. When the weather is nice, nothing is better than a trip to the park or just going for a stroller ride. I am more than comfortable in the water, so I enjoy taking little ones to the pool. When the weather requires we stay inside, board games and card games are my specialty. I like to color and draw and create with children as well.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I think one of the most important roles you can have in life is raising a child. Whether that is to your own children or someone elses it is a huge responsibility. Being a nanny, I have the opportunity to affect a childs life in such a positive way. I can be the good role model that they need. I can be their supporter, encourager, and friend. Being a nanny is so much more than just providing care. I am helping a child grow and mature into a confident, sufficient, independent human being. There is nothing more important than that.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter? To me, the most important quality a nanny should have is trustworthiness. This person is in your home, caring for your children. You have to trust that no matter what, this nanny has your childrens best interest in mind. Along with that, honesty and responsibility are vital. Not only that, but the nanny needs to be dependable and punctual.

Additional comments: I truly believe that I have the qualities that it takes to not only be a good nanny, but an exceptional care giver and role model to your child. When I'm with your children, you can feel at peace knowing they are with someone who genuinely cares for them and has their best interest in mind. I look forward to having the opportunity to talk with you more about becoming part of your family!
