Experience: I began my work with children 10 years ago as a high school student looking to earn additional spending money. I started my work in this field as a full time Summer Camp Counselor where I was responsible for attending to 10-13 children independently ages 3-12. My work continued with this employer during the school year where I worked as a Daycare Provider during the afternoon/evening hours. I fell in love with children at a young age and knew that as I matured, I would like to pursue a professional career working with kids some way or another. While obtaining my education goals, I babysat for different families over the years in addition to working full time Corporate America jobs. Shortly after entering my Master’s program, I became a full time Nanny to a precious 6 week old infant to first-time parents who were not yet ready to place their little one in daycare. To this day, I feel beyond privileged to have worked with this family and watch this little one grow up before my eyes. As I entered my internship for graduate school, I gained experience working with children ages 4-17 with mental and behavioral health complications. As an Intern Therapist, I assisted children and their families whose daily struggles were beyond comprehension. I devoted myself to educating parents on how to communicate with their children more effectively and how to better cope with their child’s diagnosis. After graduating, I was hired on as a full-time Behavioral Therapist working specifically with children who were diagnosed with Autism and Asperger’s Disorder. Here I provided therapy to families on weekly basis to improve communication, social, and emotional skills. In addition, I facilitated two Social Skills Group with children of all ages to assist, promote, educate and practice appropriate group/social interactions.I absolutely loved my job, but was eager to escape the Valley of the Sun heat and relocate from Phoenix to Boulder. Here, I am hoping to continue my work with families and children!

Experience with the following age groups: All ages including 6 weeks old to 17 years of age.

Interests and hobbies:My hobbies include spending time with friends and loved ones any chance I get. I am extremely family oriented and look forward to spending more time with extended family now that I am back in Colorado. I enjoy exploring new places, especially Boulder, since I just recently moved to this gorgeous town. I absolutely love the outdoors and will do anything to get outside and experience beautiful weather. Since the summers were so hot in AZ, I found myself constantly by the pool swimming or enjoying a day tubing and relaxing near a lake. Since moving, I am looking forward to more hiking, bike riding, and picnics in the park!

Describe your childcare style:My childcare style varies depending on the child and family!! One thing I know, is that every child is unique and obtains their own little personality. With that said, I like to cater my childcare style to the child and family needs. From experience, I’ve learned that some children do better exploring independently where others need more support or guidance. However, some areas of my childcare style are consistent and inflexible such as attentiveness, responsibility and obtaining strong boundaries! My number one priority is to always ensure any child I watch is safe and out of harms way. I am mindful of the situations I place myself in with anyone’s kiddo and will do anything necessary to ensure safety is never jeopardized.

What activities do you like to do with children:I love to do anything that allows a child to learn! Whether that be exploring the outdoors, teaching them how to swim or ride a bike, allowing them to explore their creative side with different art and craft activities, facilitating fun cooking projects, helping with homework etc. For little ones, I love to engage in collaborative and imaginary play, dance, play music, sing songs, etc.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? My love and passion for children is endless! I have devoted my life to bettering the life of children in various settings. I truly enjoying interacting with kiddos and educating them anyway possible! Kids have this amazing ability to light up a room and reflect true genuineness. That to me is what drives my passion. With my educational background and professional experience, parents are able to rest assure that their little ones are in good hands.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter? There are many qualities that are important to have as a nanny however, patience, reliability, high energy, adventurous side, kind, helpful, flexible and organized are necessary!

Additional comments:I look forward to meeting you and answering any additional questions you may have!
