Experience: I have been working with/teaching/caring for children of all ages my entire life. My foundation was built caring for family members and children in the community at a young age. I taught swimming lessons for 5 years. Following this, I worked as a preschool teacher and was a nanny for a wonderful family for 4 years. The children were 2 and 5 during this time, the oldest had autism. Working with him was such a joy and greatly influenced my undergrad where I studied Psychology and Special Education. After college I worked as a Senior Youth & Mental Health Counselor at a non profit children's organization for 3 years. During my time there I worked with children with mild to severe mental, physical, and emotional disabilities. In addition to this, I have worked with a few families with children ranging from 5 months to 14 years old. I have many years and extensive experience in household management and caring for animals (cats/dogs/horses).

Experience with the following age groups: Infant through teenagers.

Interests and hobbies:I am a very positive and optimistic person! I believe in doing good, good to yourself, good to others, and good to the earth. I love to paint, swim, hike, garden, play volleyball, do yoga, see live music, and travel. Nothing interests me more than seeing and doing new things. I love to explore and have fun. I work hard and find enjoyment in finding balance in my life and keeping an open mind. Family is very important to me and I enjoy going home to MN and seeing my nieces and nephews and spending time on the horse ranch where I grew up. I have studied and practiced mindfulness and meditation/energy work for many years and it has greatly shaped who I am as a person.

Describe your childcare style:My childcare style is fun and hands on! I like to create an environment that is respectful, active, and educational, even if they do not know it!. Nourishing healthy brain development and a positive sense of self are two very important things to me. I like to see what interests/hobbies the kiddos I work with already like and add to them. I think it is also important to keep the parents in the loop and up to date with our daily ventures. I want the parents to feel comfortable and know that their little ones are in good hands.

What activities do you like to do with children:My favorite thing to do with children is explore. I enjoy going on outings to different parks, libraries, pools, kids museums, and nature areas. Along with this, I also like to do activities at home such as make believe play, paint, read, build forts, or doing crafts.
