Experience: I have a variety of experiences working with children, both in professional settings and in in-home care situations as well. I started babysitting when I was a teenager (around 14 years old) and absolutely love working with kids! I have worked an internship that involved creating weekly garden camps for local children and I also volunteered with a different community garden to work with their youth programs for children that were toddlers and preschool age.

Experience with the following age groups: 2-12 years old.

Interests and hobbies:I love being active and embracing the outdoors like every true Coloradan should! This includes but is not limited to hiking, fishing and running trails. I also enjoy exercising daily, dancing and doing yoga and handstands wherever I can. I enjoy spending most of my time with family and friends and I love to eat good and healthy food! I have also recently taken up the new hobby of coloring (thanks to Barnes and Noble's section of awesome adult-geared coloring books!). I am personally interested in all areas of environmental sustainability and I like to read about those subjects on my free time.

Describe your childcare style:I would describe my childcare style to be parallel with the parenting style of Authoritative. I try to set whatever limits the parents use with their children, and maintain good communication with the child when certain limits are exceeded. I think it's important to be both a responsive and caring adult to children while caring for them and to also be aware of what they need emotionally. Aside from this I like to teach children as much as I can and make sure that they have FUN when they are in my care. I can use disciplinary methods (time-outs or "think about it") when necessary but I also like to avoid being serious and stern all of the time. I want the children I am working with to grow, develop and be able to be their goofy selves when they can!

What activities do you like to do with children:I like to play games outside (weather permitting), go on walks, bike rides, take trips to playgrounds and basically anything else active. I also love to draw and color with the kids, read to them, play inside games, and have fun quizzes to teach them about new information.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I am interested in working as a nanny because I have yet to find work more enjoyable then working with kids. I am interested in teaching preschool or other kids around that age and would enjoy more experience with them! I think care giving for children is something very valuable because of how important they are to their families, and to the future. If anyone deserves the best of the best it is children and I want to be a part of that good service.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?I think first and foremost the most important quality for a nanny is a high level of integrity. To me, integrity is a characteristic that means you act as you should when people are watching, and when people are not. Nannying is a job that doesn't require constant supervision by a superior and this means that they have to be a person who genuine, even when someone is not judging them. Other qualities such as being responsible, compassionate, intuitive with kids, honest, positive and fun-loving are also very important in a Nanny.
