Experience: I began my childcare experience by working as an after-care counselor at an elementary school back in Pennsylvania. I then babysat for a few families in the community regularly who had children ages 2, 3, 5 and 7 from 2008 until 2012. In terms of nanny experience, I worked for a family who had two boys ages 5 and 9 from 2009 until 2013 when I moved to Colorado. In Colorado (2013), I began working for an organization that teaches enrichment lessons to students ages 5-10. I was able to teach these enrichment lessons before school on late start days, on holidays and during summer camps. I also became familiar with some schools through substitute teaching experience; I taught in K-12 classrooms as well as a long term substitute position at a high school. Then I taught 4th grade classroom the last year and a half.

Experience with the following age groups: Infants through teens.

Interests and hobbies:My favorite hobby is getting out into the mountains and going hiking or trail running. I also really enjoy riding my bike, spending time with friends and cooking.

Describe your childcare style:I have an attentive and engaging childcare style. My top priority is making sure that children enjoy an activity while they get something meaningful out of it. When I am with children, I like to have fun - I am playful and can be silly while engaging children in an activity that they can gain new knowledge and meaning from. I have a warm, caring and positive approach with children that makes me a more easygoing and flexible nanny/babysitter. Because of my solid experience in education, I am able to provide activities that can be meaningful learning opportunities for children.

What activities do you like to do with children:I really enjoy playing athletic games at home or at a park, nature walks, hiking, cooking, baking, arts and crafts, board games, video games, running errands, going to the movies, trips to the swimming pool, exploring museums and going for walks around the neighborhood.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I believe that nannying and babysitting is an important and rewarding job. I truly enjoy seeing children transform as they grow, learn new skills and gain confidence. I find that having an influence in childrens growing process is extremely satisfying.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?Trustworthiness, honesty, loyalty, motivated, hardworking, passionate about working with young people, personable, dependable, organized, flexible and easygoing.
