Experience: I have grown up caring for children. I have two younger sibling that I would occasionally babysit for. I also babysat for family friends and neighbors. After high school for three years I worked in a daycare being a lead teacher in the infant room. I was responsible for writing lesson plans which included small and large motor, sensory, basic sign language, reading stories and singing songs as well as doing art. Being in the infant room I prepared bottles, baby food and following each child's schedule. I have also babysat for multiple families who attended the daycare. After working in a daycare, I started working with a family with two sweet girls, ages 3 months and 6 months. I planned daily acitivies and worked with the 3 year old getting prepared for school. I have been with the family for 3 years and have loved being able to help them grow and learn. Within the past almost 6 years I have learned an incredible amount of working with children and have a passion for it.

Experience with the following age groups: I have expierence with children from the ages of 6 weeks to 12 years old.

Interests and hobbies:I enjoy being outside, taking hikes, camping, seeing live music, and traveling, I enjoy doing small jobs around the house, staying active and cooking!

Describe your childcare style:Children learn through play,it is important to include lessons into play. I am compassionate about working with children and feel that they need a positive roll model and consistency in their everyday life.

What activities do you like to do with children:Newborn – Toddler Ages This is a wonderful age where everything is just beginning, bring on the adventures and discoveries! In the past I have introduced new foods, textures, experiences and created healthy balanced meals. I have also created sleep schedules, feeding schedules, regular routines and bath time at all ages. I work on many things at this age from touch, sensory stimulation, gross motor skills, potty training, walking, talking, speech, letter recognition, pattern recognition, color recognition, all while making sure to encourage them to achieve their milestones and celebrating when they do! Each child learns in different ways and I love allowing children to lear and grow. I loveg getting outside and exploring as much as possible! My love for nature and the great outdoors generally passes quite easily from me to them at this stage if it hasn’t already, from walks and hikes to endless time spent in the pool/swimming or learning to swim. Preschool age: Being active and exploring is the best. I try to encourage learning and make it as fun as possible by often educating about what is around us (animals, plants, bugs etc.) This age is also a wonderful time to get into the kitchen, through baking and cooking much is learned. I love cooking and baking with children! At this age our imaginations are also really starting to take flight, I encourage this and love to create endlessly with them both on paper through drawing, painting, playdoh and all crafting as well as through their play. Or maybe we’re just building a gigantic pillow fort to snuggle up in and read some stories or make up some great ones of our own! Basically I think it's important to have loads of fun while helping little ones discover the world, and the who, what, where, why and how everything works. For school age children I do much of the same as above but on a more detailed level. I’m sure to focus more closely on their math, science, speech, reading and grammar. As well as helping with homework, letter formation and writing skills. Manners and respect are important at all ages and encouraged always! Usually by this age we’ve moved into longer more thoughtful walks / hikes, broader discussions about life, playing sports, exploring their interests and hobbies, Every age is a great age! There are always endless things to learn, discover and experience for us all!

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? One of the best things in life is impacting a child in a positive way. If it is your own children or someone else's it is a huge responsibility. I can be the good role model that children need. Working with children is more then just watching them, it is helping a child grow to be who they are. I have always had an interest in working with children!

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?A nanny should be positive, caring, patient, and enjoy working with children, as well as having a passion to help them grow, and learn. A nanny should also want to impact a child's life in a positive way. Also I believe having trust with your nanny and knowing that they have your child's best interest in mind. Being very reliable, and most importantly being kind, respectful, caring, understanding and loving.

Additional comments:I look forward to hearing from you and meeting your family!
