Experience: I started watching children when I was about 9 years old, starting in the nursery at my church. I watched children ages 6 weeks-3 years of age. From there, I babysat for several neighbors who had children ages newborn-10. I was also an on-call babysitter for a family that had a 6 year old. I have 2 nephews that are 4 and 7 that I have been watching since they were newborns. I have worked in several preschools with children ranging from ages 6 weeks to 8 years. I am currently in school for my Early Childhood Education degree and have loved working with children since a very early age. I believe that the early childhood years are crucial to the future success of children's learning and enjoy spending time with them one on one as I believe that each child learns differently.

Experience with the following age groups: I have worked with all age groups from newborn-10 years. I have been a lead teacher in two of the preschools I worked at and was in charge of making age appropriate lesson plans in all major educational subjects, including but not limited to reading, writing, sensory, social skills, science, and math. I have been around children and caring for them since I was about 10 years old and have a passion for working with children.

Interests and hobbies:In my free time, I love watching Broncos games, knitting, reading, being outdoors, and being with my family. I also enjoy music and play several instruments.

Describe your childcare style:I love to have fun with kids and let them explore their world safely, but I also believe in setting boundaries. I try to teach respect to children, while also letting them know that I respect them. Each child is different and has a different learning style, so my overall style is to have fun, be creative, and help children learn in the best way possible for them.

What activities do you like to do with children:I made lesson plans for children in preschools that I worked in that are age appropriate. I like to do activities that are fun, but also a learning experience. Activities such as sensory, arts and crafts, board games, and building are a few of my favorites. I also enjoy being outside with children and letting them safely explore and ask questions.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I have worked in the preschool industry for several years and have found myself preferring to work with children one on one. I believe it is highly beneficial for kids to have that extra attention and not be grouped into a specific learning style. I would love to meet a family that I can be with long term and help their children grow and be successful.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?Honesty, communication, compassion, and respect are important qualities to have. It is crucial when working with families to be able to talk to them openly and work together to find the best solution. It is also important to be compassionate towards children and help them access their feelings; they have bad days and sometimes they just need an extra snuggle.

Additional comments:I look forward to meeting your family!
