Experience: Being the second eldest child of 4 girls, I have had much experience caring for children starting at an early age. At the age of 12, I began babysitting and volunteering in positions that work with children. In college, I worked for several years as a musical theater camp counselor. As the counselor, I was responsible for the safety, accountability and wellbeing of 20+ campers at all times. I acted as the head of the junior theater camp and was the assistant director of the summer performance. I organized daily activities and transportation of the campers, and taught the children acting and vocal skills. I was also a swimming instructor for children ages 3-5 years old. I was also briefly a part-time nanny for 3 children (ages 3, 7 and 9), where I cared for them after school. I assisted the children with homework, prepared snacks and played games. More recently I have been working as a childhood educator for a class of 8 children ages 12-18 months.

Experience with the following age groups: Infant through school age.

Interests and hobbies:I love going outside and exploring nature. I enjoy talking walks, going to the park and hiking. I also love playing board games, crafting, reading , knitting, caring for my plants and flowers, singing and playing the ukulele and playing with my cat, Nala.

Describe your childcare style:I would describe my childcare style as nurturing, patient, positive, enthusiastic and encouraging. I do my best to help children feel confident, loved and accepted while teaching them to show kindness, love and respect to others, and motivating them to take the initiative in their own learning! I encourage children to be creative and use their imagination. I also take a personal interest in the hobbies and subjects that the children I care for enjoy so that we can learn about them together. Although I am very caring and playful with the children I care for, I am also responsible and am stern when it is necessary.

What activities do you like to do with children:I love to do various activities with the children I care for. I enjoy taking them outside to play and explore nature, play imagination games, color and craft, sing songs and put on plays, dance to music, read and make up stories together, play with pets, dress up, board games, etc. I am always up to try any activity that the child may be interested in!

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I love working with children. It never fails that each child I meet is able to teach me something and help to make me a better person. I truly enjoy spending time with children and working part-time as a nanny or babysitter gives me the ability to pursue other career aspirations at the same time.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?I believe that a nanny or babysitter should be playful, supportive, encouraging, loving, enthusiastic, responsible, creative, fun, thoughtful, optimistic, consistent, open-minded, adaptable and stern when necessary. They should take an interest in the learning of the children they care for and do their best to aid in their development.

Additional comments:I look forward to meeting amazing families!
