Experience: For the last 2 years, I taught 4-7 year olds at a small nature-based homeschool cooperative. Before that, I worked at a daycare center in for infants-6 year olds. I have also been a tutor for at-risk teens, a 9th grade public school math and science teacher, a mentor for troubled youth, and a teaching assistant at the university level.

Interests and hobbies:The Nanny/Babysitter has the following interests and hobbies: I am a professional musician (celtic harp). I love to hike, camp, bike, and garden. I live on a sheep ranch and love to take care of all kinds of animals.

Describe your childcare style:I listen closely to what the child/children like to do and try to find creative ways to foster their own interests. I am fun and flexible, but I do have clear boundaries about acceptable behavior and am comfortable sharing these directly with the children when the need arises.

What activities do you like to do with children:Whenever possible, I like to be outside with the children. Depending on their age, I encourage physical games and exercise, imaginative play, arts and crafts, puppet shows, music, and whatever special activities the family does - ex. cooking, animal care, gardening, etc.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I love working with children but the school systems can be challenging for teachers. I like the flexibility and mutual respect found in nanny/babysitter situations.
