Experience: I've nannied for three wonderful families. The first of the three had a 6-week-old baby boy and a 12-year-old girl with special needs. The second family had six children ages 14 months to 15 years and I stayed with them for 3 years. My most previous family was one with 9 children ages 18 months to 18 years and I stayed with them for 2 1/2 years. Aside from nannying, I have two years of experience teaching music in a school setting, and 5 years working with the boys and girls club. In addition to all of this, I spent a summer in college working in the baby room of a daycare.

Experience with the following age groups: Newborn through teenagers.

Interests and hobbies:In my spare time, I enjoy reading, exercising, playing music, hiking, cooking, writing, playing games and watching movies.

Describe your childcare style:My style of caring for children is largely dictated by the wishes of their parents. In my experience, the nanny situation is most successful when said nanny is on the same page as the parents in regards to the children's discipline, rewards, chores, screen time, etc. It is so vital for the nanny to know all of the childcare wishes of the parents so that she may honor them. Great communication between parents and those who care for their children is of utmost importance. All of that being said, I believe that all children are gifts and should be listened to, challenged, and expected to achieve great things. This is the foundation for all of my interactions with children.

What activities do you like to do with children:I love to do arts and crafts, make fun foods, play board games, play outside, go hiking, play music, tell stories, and more!

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? Because when you work with children, your days are full of excitement and your job is never boring!

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter? These qualities are most important in a nanny, through they are in no particular order. A nanny should love kids being with kids. This seems like it should go without saying, but it's too important not to mention. A nanny should be loyal and discreet. Since she is in a role that is quite close to the family, she may be privy to private or sensitive information. Her loyalty must be to the family who employs her. A nanny should have honesty and integrity. I believe this is something that needs to be a character trait that is present in a person no matter his/her occupation. However, a nanny definitely needs to have integrity in order to be trusted in someone else's home so consistently. A nanny should be reliable. Since a nanny is usually one of only a few employees, she must be relied upon to arrive consistently and on time.
