Experience: I have worked with numerous different families, from only children to four siblings. In college, I designed extracurricular activities for elementary school kids to bring learning to the outdoors. With a class of 20, we explored the Iowa prairie and discussed human-nature interaction, culminating with planting native flowers. This summer, I worked as a Children's Wrangler at a guest ranch, where I was responsible for 7-12 year olds on daily horseback rides, campfires, and crafts. I also wrote a children's book with the help of a group of kids aged 5-14. Experience with the following age groups: Newborns to teens. Interests and hobbies:I enjoy spending time outside, playing music, and reading. I have traveled to 23 countries and love learning languages, listening to stories, and trying new food. In college, I lived in a cooperative food house and developed a love for creating delicious meals to share. I adore animals and am currently working to train rescued mustangs. Describe your childcare style:I believe in letting kids be kids, while still enforcing respect for parent's wishes, listening, and cooperation. I encourage active imaginations through asking questions and truly listening to the answers. What activities do you like to do with children:I enjoy being active with children, perhaps spending a nice afternoon at the local park or playing a new instrument. Arts and crafts are always a good option for a rainy day, while the individual interests and passions of children are always welcome! Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I love working with children because they teach me something new and profound every time. I also feel that I would be able to have a positive influence on their lives, as we grow and learn together. What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?First and foremost, a nanny should be trustworthy. After all, you are entrusting your loved ones into their care. A nanny should be punctual, respectful and enthusiastic about children. Additional comments:I realize finding a new nanny or babysitter can be a stressful and difficult endeavor. When you leave your children with me, you are entrusting them to a loving, enthusiastic and responsible individual. After all, if I can babysit horses and children at the same time, you can be sure I'll keep your children safe and out of harm's way! |
