Back in 1994, my husband and I were busy raising our 3 older children who were 3, 5 and 7 at the time. In a few weeks we would be welcoming our 4th child. We were hoping to find an energetic young woman to help keep the older kids happy and enable me to catch an occasional nap after the new baby was born. I called Nannies of the Rockies and was fabulously fortunate to find out from Julie that she had just the person I was looking for. As it turned out, she was right. 12 years later, that energetic young woman (Nanny A) is still helping me out. Though now the job is more about shuttling kids to sports activities and music lessons and also nudging our youngest (5th child) to get her homework done...

About 4 years ago, Nanny A wanted to go back to school to get a Master's Degree. She & I agreed to have her continue with me part time. For half a year I did all the grocery shopping, clothes, bedding and towel laundry. As you can imagine, for a family of 7, this is a fair amount of work. I didn't mind doing it all myself, but realized that I didn't have much time or energy left over for any creative endeavor of my own. So I called Julie at Nannies of the Rockies and once again was wonderfully fortunate. She recommended a Nanny B whose forte was house management. Well, Nanny B is helping me full time now and I am happily able to pursue projects I couldn't possibly take on if I were still doing all the housework.

There were a few years, during Nanny A's first decade, when I was looking for a part-time afternoon helper as well. So I called Julie again. She was able to help me find a good helper for September-May for several years. Since I didn't have work for them in the summer months, they tended to move on, which was fine. One year there was a gal who was not the right fit for me. After one week, I let Julie know it wasn't going to work out and she was great. She took good care of both me and that Nanny she was helping to place.

Julie's help is worth every penny. She does extensive background checks of driving records and criminal records. In this crazy world of ours, that kind of groundwork is invaluable. Julie really cares about helping people find the right personal fit with their Nanny. She will stand by you until you find the right person. Since "it takes a village to raise a child", having a great Nanny is a wonderful benefit for everyone in your family.
