Please describe your family:
Family of three: mother, father and only child. Both parents work full time, with some flexibility in scheduling. Our son is on the autism spectrum and is verbal, but his speech is quite delayed. His overall functional communication is that of a 2 year-old. He is sweet, rambunctious and usually cooperative. However, he does require more supervision than a typical 5 year-old. We live near open space and he likes to hike. He also enjoys swimming, swinging, climbing on rocks and most toys that a typical 5 year-old enjoys!
Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
We need a caregiver for our son for Tuesdays and Thursdays June-August 17th. Our son will attend a therapy camp M,W and F during that time. So far, he does best in an environment with one-on-one support so we are hoping to hire a nanny for these two days a week. If the right caregiver has a car, or is willing to bike, we will try to arrange a lesson or therapy session for these days.
Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
Single, 5 year old boy, who is mostly sweet, silly, high-energy and curious. He loves singing and music of all kinds. He is distractable at times with toys and manipulatives, however, exercise is a must for him. He is not fully toilet trained and we are actively working on this skill. We are looking for someone with patience, a sense of humor and a kind heart. We have found that reinforcing positive behavior is the best approach to eliminate negative behaviors with our son, and will give plenty of ideas and reinforcers for this. However, we want someone who is a) willing to participate in a system of positive reinforcement, and b) feels comfortable enforcing boundaries when necessary. We also need someone who has a lot of energy and likes to be outside and loves to sing, read and be silly.
Describe your home setting: Our home is a 3 level townhouse in south Boulder. We live near several parks, playgrounds and hiking trails. Our son has his own bedroom with lots of tows and swings and other big things for jumping/climbing. We do allow him to watch some TV and have lots of options for him - however, he isn't a huge fan of sitting still. We don't have any pets currently. We are about a mile (walkable) from stores, restaurant, a library and an ice cream shop. We would supply "walking around money" and library card etc for trips out of the house.

Making light lunch for child and self, very light clean up of toys, and possibly child.
What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
Hiking, running, playground, maybe swimming, reading, singing, playing. We would like someone willing to work on some skills and we would give very concrete instructions for this. If transportation is feasible, we would arrange some sort of activity for him- e.g tumbling, swimming lesson, therapy.

How many hours do you need a nanny for?
Summer 2018- June 1 to mid-August, Tuesdays and Thursdays (not the week of July 4th) daily schedule is flexible, but 7:30-4:30/5 ish.
How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
$18-$22/hr.
Do you have any pets or animals in your home?
Not currently. We *might* get a dog if the timing is right, but we would definitely confer with anyone spending time in our house reguarly.
