Nanny Job Details

Job ID: 5555
Location: Louisville, CO

Please describe your family:
Hi! Our family lives in Louisville and includes two happy, engaged, very sweet kids - an almost 2 year old girl, and a 4 year old boy. We are a busy household, with two working parents, but we aim to have our home be a place where the kids feel very loved, comfortable, and safe to play, learn, rest, and grow. It\'s great for them to get messy and be their wild selves, but we also like simplicity and consistency - it\'s a balance that is not always possible to achieve, but I think we have found an intention and approach that work for us! Our 4-year old is nature-obsessed, and also loves building, creating, and pretending. He is in school three mornings a week. Our 2-year old is happy as can be and really just all about exploring her world. I work from home for an east coast-based consulting firm, so I am home during the day and busy with my work, and this is something the kids understand and respect (i.e., the nanny is the one in charge, I stay out of the way and rarely make an appearance). My husband works longer hours at a non-profit foundation and travels 1-2 times per month.

Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
We are looking for a nanny for the time period of April 15 through July 26. We have hosted au pairs for the last 2 years, and our current au pair is returning to Brazil unexpectedly, so we need to fill a care gap between now and the end of July.

Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
Our 4-year old boy and almost 2-year old daughter (described above). The 4-year old will be at school three mornings a week. Both kids have a few activities - music class, an outdoor play group, gymnastics.

Describe your home setting: We are about a mile from downtown Louisville. Our house has a big, bright, basement playroom that opens out to the backyard, and several other living areas the kids can play in as well. For this period - April through July, the weather will make it really nice to be out in the backyard with sprinkler toys, sidewalk chalk, etc. The kids really love nothing more than to run and play out there, especially after a long winter :)

We are interested in the following:
Nanny, Summer
Nanny, Temporary

Full-Time/Part-Time?
Full-time

How long do you need a Nanny?
Less than 6 months

Live-in/Live-out?
Nanny, live-out

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
Just tasks related to the children, such as making breakfast, lunch, and snacks and helping with their laundry. We like to keep their playroom and living areas pretty neat and organized, so just helping us maintain that at the end of each work day.

What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
A few main buckets - facilitating loose and creative play, sparking their creativity (art, legos, etc), but also knowing when to just hang back and let them be in their own world. Also, helping them learn - this would include (for example) whatever random country/planet/dinosaur/etc our son asks about, reading lots of books with them, as well as teaching/reinforcing behaviors and manners. Additionally, the nanny will take them to the weekly activities described above. We would love it if she could help set up play dates as well.

What special certifications/requirements are you looking for?
CPR and First Aid

Does this position require a valid driver's license?
Yes

Does this position require a car?
A car is provided

When will this position be available?
4/15/2019

How many hours do you need a nanny for?
M-F 7am-3pm, 40 hours per week. April 15-July 26

How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
$23-$24/ hour. A 4-day weekend the week of 4th of July. Approx 2 days off in June (dates TBD) when Grandma is in town :) A vehicle is provided, or if you use your own we will reimburse mileage.

Do you have any pets or animals in your home?
Yes, a 7-year old lab who is SO sweet and lazy and truly barely moves from her spot during the day.

What else are you looking for in a nanny?
We would love a nanny who has several years of experience, a warm personality, and is proactive in helping make our kids days joyful and engaging. We have a handful of true rules (the usuals around safety and respect), and it's important our nanny is comfortable helping to reinforce those boundaries in a positive way. We look forward to communicating with our nanny on anything related to the kids, their needs, and their home environment - we have always learned so much from our kids' caregivers and really welcome ideas and input. Reliability is big, since we start our days promptly at 7am (I work east coast hours).
