Nanny Job Details

Job ID: 5715
Location: Boulder, CO

Please describe your family:
We are a young, easygoing family of 3, including Mom, Dad, and our 4 month old baby girl. We also have a young pooch – a medium sized, 2 year old rescue pup currently staying with family in North Carolina, but likely joining us in the fall. We just moved to Boulder from NY and are so incredibly excited about the change. Mom is a private equity professional for a Boulder-based firm, Dad is a surgeon based in Miami for the next two years. Mom is returning to work after maternity leave ends in September and is starting an in-person position at a new firm. Grandma has been helping out in the mornings but will be returning to New York in the fall. Across our family we speak four languages in addition to English (Russian, French, Hebrew and Hungarian) and speak English and Russian with our daughter day-to-day. We really love our intense careers but are low-key in every other possible way. In our spare time, we’re a relaxed bunch and really just want to read a good book, debate Marvel movies and eat some great food. Our parenting style is very flexible and open-minded, though we believe in fostering a sense of independence in our daughter early on.

Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
We are looking for a Full Time Nanny/House Manager who can be a big part of our daughter’s life. Mom and Dad will be very focused on their careers over the next two years (and beyond)and need additional help with our baby and household. Right now, it’s just Mom here in Boulder, who will be starting a new job that will demand a ton of time, effort and focus. Dad will likely only be able to come home about 2 weekends a month. We want our daughter to have a nurturing and dedicated caregiver, who is flexible if occasional additional hours needed. Our daughter will be attending daycare in the morning only, but we would love for her to have one-on-one care for the rest of the day and evening until 8 pm.

Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
Our daughter is a smiley and social 4 month old. She’s a very easygoing baby who just enjoys exploring the world and discovering all the wonders around her (her hand, the fan, the blinds etc). She enjoys her naps, walks and solo playtime (who knew you could have so much fun staring at the same shapes for hours on end!). She has been semi-sleep trained (we have a Snoo) and we believe in fostering a continued sense of independence as she develops.

Describe your home setting: We live in South Boulder, in Keewaydin Meadows. Our home has a living area and kitchen on the main level, where our nanny and baby will likely spend most of the day, 3 bedrooms on the top level, where the baby naps and sleeps and a living area with a bedroom in the basement where family stays when they visit. We have a small deck and fenced in yard. Our small community has a dedicated pool and tennis courts and is a five minute walk from the East Boulder Community Center and lots of trails.

We are interested in the following:
Nanny, Permanent

Full-Time/Part-Time?
Full-time

How long do you need a Nanny?
1 Year

Live-in/Live-out?
Nanny, live-out

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
Primarily, being with our daughter and specifically, taking care of her after daycare (feeding, playing, walking etc.) and putting her to bed at 7pm. Other than that, we would appreciate light housekeeping relating to her (baby’s laundry, picking up toys, grocery shopping, occasional errands, meal prep and washing bottles/pump parts). If our dog is with us in the fall, letting him in and out of the house.

What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
We want our daughter to feel safe, independent but cared for in her daily routine (both solo and social playtime, maintaining her schedule, being well fed, reading age-appropriate books, taken on walks and encouraging development, etc.). We want our daughter to be exposed to regular outdoor time (hour long walk before bedtime) and lots of reading.

What special certifications/requirements are you looking for?
CPR & First Aid Certified. Vaccination (including COVID)

Does this position require a valid driver's license?
Yes

Does this position require a car?
Yes

When will this position be available?
Start date is flexible

How many hours do you need a nanny for?
M-F Noon or 1 pm – 8pm, 35-40 hour weeks guaranteed. Definitely flexible for more for the right candidate (we have more flexibility on start time) but need someone who can be available daily until 7:30-8pm given Mom’s longer hours. We would also like for someone to have the ability to cover occasional earlier mornings/later evenings and overnights when Mom has to travel.

How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
$30-$32/hour, we are hoping to make you feel like a part of our family! We offer paid vacation, paid holidays, expense reimbursement and sick days. $500 Signing and Performance bonus.

Do you have any pets or animals in your home?
One 35 lb very friendly rescue pup named Mando, joining us in the fall.

What else are you looking for in a nanny?
We are looking for a career nanny who is looking for a multi years job, is reliable and loves what they do, can really take charge and be proactive with our daughter’s care. Given our intense careers, and given Dad being away in Miami for two years, we’re also looking for someone who is extremely reliable and trustworthy. We are fairly relaxed otherwise and are really looking for our nanny’s advice and guidance raising our daughter and fostering a keen sense of curiosity and independence. A love for languages and ability to speak multiple languages is a huge plus (not a requirement) – across our family we speak four and would love for our daughter to be raised multi-lingual. Lastly, while our daughter is still young, we would eventually like for our nanny to help us foster an environment that encourages independent learning (math and STEM specifically), a love for reading, a keen sense of curiosity and independence.
