We are a creative and dynamic family that recently lost a husband and father, our family’s rock. He died suddenly in late October and I am now adjusting to being a single mom. I am dedicated to wellness and focus on fitness, healthy food, living a balanced life, and I love traveling and spending time with my friends and family. I used to be a touring musician and I still love singing, playing guitar, writing songs, recording and jamming with friends. I hope to bring more live shows back into my life as a performer and as a fan.
My oldest daughter recently turned 16 and just started at a new high school here in Boulder. She went through a bumpy time during covid but worked hard last year developing her resilience, humor, and communication skills. I am so proud of her. My younger daughter is a happy, funny 2nd grader that is creative, curious and a pleasure to spend time with.
Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
I need a Nanny/House Manager to help with childcare and keep things running smoothly around the house. We are beginning to settle into our new routine without dad and it’s time to bring on more support. I want to create time to connect one on one with each of my children separately and together, and also need quality time for myself. We need someone who can fill in on many fronts: childcare, meal prep, day-to-day chores, feeding the dog, running errands, transporting kids, etc.
Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
Daughter - 8 years old - She is an energetic, loving, fun, engaging, playful girly girl. She loves dress up, polly pockets and legos, cards, board games, imaginative play, audible stories, music, jumping on the trampoline, gymnastics and dance.
Daughter - 16 years old - She is an artistic, observant, passionate, self aware, interesting and engaging teenager. She is a good student that loves language arts, art, music and history and can sit with you and have a deep conversation about politics or current events.
Describe your home setting:
We live in a 4 bedroom home in South Boulder. The setting is quiet and beautiful. We have a beautifully equipped kitchen and two outdoor garden beds for growing vegetables. There is great separation of space to accommodate everyone’s needs for lots of different activities, as well as a lovely open concept dining, living and kitchen area.

All things kid related with a flexibility to adjust to different situations.
Home Management and Childcare - I am looking for someone that can help with the following:
Daily planning, organizing, and coordination of a busy family
Nurturing the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of each child.
Positive Parenting approach - positive reinforcement, redirecting, realistic expectations, limit setting, healthy routines, consistent schedules, a loving firm hand, personal accountability, reward/consequences when appropriate and modeling resiliency.
Involving the kids in the everyday tasks of the house in a fun and positive way.
Maintaining general home tidiness and organization.
Preparing meals and cleaning up the kitchen when needed.
Laundering and putting away clothing.
Encouraging self care - Bathing, teeth brushing, hair brushing, putting personal things away.
Shopping for food, supplies, and other necessary items
Transportation for the family (i.e. school and extracurricular drop off’s and pick up’s).
Help with homework and educational activities.
Light Cleaning Duties - I have a cleaner that comes once a week, so the housekeeping help would be on the lighter side.
Caring for pets - We have a big loving Bernadoodle who needs to be walked, fed and loved.
Watering plants.
Other possible tasks:
Arranging appointments.
Helping with research for vacations.
Assisting in packing and unpacking for trips.
Assisting with planning and executing any home parties.
Purchasing and wrapping birthday and other gifts.
Purchasing clothing.
Completing store returns and exchanges.
What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
Nourish them with educational opportunities - playing, reading, art, craft projects, science projects, cooking, painting, music, games, humor, love, speaking Spanish a bonus, going to the park, being active and outside, riding bikes, helping with homework, going on outings to museums and other places like the butterfly pavilion, concerts, performances, community events, etc.
What special certifications/requirements are you looking for?
CPR and First Aid Certified. Fully Covid vaccinated.
I want someone with professional experience in raising children. Ultimately someone with childhood development training in different ages and stages, someone that is trained in what expectations are reasonable and someone that can positively foster their inherent strengths. We are a grieving family, so we are looking for sensitivity, empathy and courage in facing emotions and the expected ups and downs of that process without fear or trying to change it. We are doing our best to face each day and be accountable and responsible for our own feelings, responsibilities and goals. It is a delicate balance at this time. I need someone who can attune to where we are and can foster love and positivity while at the same time allow the ick.

How many hours do you need a nanny for?
M-F 1pm-8pm with one week day longer that will be later while I work on my music, go to dinner, have "me" time etc. Must be flexible with occasional evenings, overnight and potentially travel. Will guarantee 40 hours/week
How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
I am willing to pay $35-$40/hour commensurate with experience. Vacation, Major Holidays and sick days. I can offer a stipend for health care and performance bonuses!
Do you have any pets or animals in your home?
Yes. We have a big loving Bernadoodle named Kodi who needs to be walked, fed and loved!
What else are you looking for in a nanny?
A positive and direct communicator. A playful, active person that can model self care, balanced living, wellness, resiliency, dedication, goal setting, organization, hard work and a positive way to be in the world. I want someone that can step in with confidence to not only manage the kids but keep the house running smoothly and support our family through this transition.
